hi just got my first rsv mille only 1999 model but really clean and low miles ive just checked air box and the mods been done as has exhaust but the blue green wire is still intact do you need this cut on british spec bike to deristrict

we as no one replied i went ahead and cut the wire and its now not the same bike so much torx almost pulls your arms off love it

What are the air box mods & where is this blue/green wire, want to check if mines been done.
Thanks

take top of airbox off and you should see a large hole where the air intake is if its restricted the hole is smaller and you can see the piece you need to unscrew . and if you look on the ecu you will see a blue green wire if its connected just take it out or cut it this releases a full power map

Nice one, cheers
Pretty sure the whole is the internal diameter of the filter, will check the wire.

what if you have a power command fitted will it be worth cutting the wire, it has a custom map that was done on a dyno

Martin

i have no idea but just try removeing the wire cant do any harm as the original map with the wire connected is the restricted map

could you put a picture of the wire u need to cut

Hmm this sounds interesting, can I ask what restriction this lifts? Is it top end or more power/bhp?

Sorry if his is a stupid question Ive just never messed about with de restricting a bike.

Andy,

When you get the bike sorted give me a call and I will have a look at this for you, there isn't a lot to it. There is a bung in the airbox and a wire to cut on the ecu, most bikes got done by the dealer on the first service.

Mark

does this de-restriction also apply to the newer shaped rsv's mines a 56 plate and im wondering if it applies to my bike aswell ??
