All of a sudden my RSV 1000 R of 2007 vintage won't run clean between idle and 3000 rpm. Idle is a little uneven but i does not stall. It will not hold exactly 2000 rpm. It started popping on the overrun at the same time. Is this fixable without the AXONE diagnostic tool? Anyone who has been exatly where I am? Boat and cartrain tickets are burning a hole in my pocket.

Yeah mate sounds like the tps, no codes on dash? When my tps went it would rev to about that and stall a soon as i moved off.my spanner monkey fixed it bit cant these be adjusted with a screwdriver? ( sorry sold manual when bine went)

Self-diagnosis returns 0. On my old Mille you could connect two wires and read the TPS values off the dash and probably fix it with a screwdriver (mine never went out in 9 years). I don't think the new models, post 2004, offers the same fix. Anybody who knows different?

have you checked the tiny vacuum hoses underneath the airbox on the l/h side? they are prove to splitting and it results in similar peoblemss to yours.
 
I have. They where fine. I also caved in and contacted the local Aprilia shop. The bike is going there first thing in the morning. Hopefully they will fix it time for my trip. If you want to help now, send money :eek:
 
hmmm mines been doing this the last week .... will take it off and have a look ..... if I can find where it's located lol
 
I find redex or the like is always the first port of call at times like this .. But then I am a mechanical numpty :)
