tyres???

D

deano

i know tyres usually done to death but deciding what tyres i should get after my track day next month as will need some new ones?

i currently have corsa 3s on the rsv as that what was on when i bought it...

they seem ok but think take a little while to warm....

i ride pretty much all year so need a tyre that can handle the wet and be pretty good on a hot day also .... i am not hugely agressive rider but do like to give it some occasionaly ... and when i ride to work its a 80mile round trip with at least 3 quarters of that in a straight line so think i need a dual compound tyre...

shall i stay with the corsa 3s £200
go back to the bridgstone bt21s i had on my gixer £200
or go crazy and get a pair of maxis supermax touring? £120

or any other suggestions ?

Hey Deano

If money is not too much of an issue, I suggest Michelin 2ct's :thumbup

When I first got my Mille I did California Superbike at Rockingham in the pouring rain with Pilot Powers and they were brilliant so I'll go with 2CTs as well:thumbup

I did this thread some time ago consensus was pilot power 2cts, which I bought, £215 fitted to loose wheels. JUST waiting for the bloody weather to sort itself out. Ken

I'll get 2ct's for mine. HAd the on my old RSV an were very good. Expensive but tires are worth spending money on if they keep you upright!

I tried 2ct on my ninja, prefer the corsa3 I have on the mille. preferred the standard daiblos i had on my blade, but i did crash that!
Thinking of trying Avon or Maxxis next seeing as it is summer and i'll be back on corsa 3 for the witer unless i findsomething much better in the mean time

horses for courses. the corsa 3 or the 2ct will be fine but you might find something that suits YOU just as well for cheaper or is even better if you try other brands.I've tried dunlop, pirelli, michelin, tomahawk and even tried different ones within the brands, most have been usable, some slightly better than others.

I luv conti sport attack. Think there about 160 a set. They last, sticky and warm up quick. Never really had a problem with any road tyre to be honest. As pieman says there all good.

Did a wet track day at Cadwell with Pilot Power 2CT's and had no problems at all. Bloody good all round tyre I reakon.:thumbup

I'm using Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier race replica's at the moment, I got 5000+ K's out of the rear and they are excellent in the wet and dry.:thumbup

I also like Metzler M3's, I had these on my GSXR,:thumbup
