Okay so tyre choice is as personal as the underwear you do/dont wear (delete as applicable)

But has anybody tried those Maxxis SuperMaxx Sports ? (They seem to get some good reviews, but I'm dubious about the quality based on their cost)

How much are they Kiwi?

I only ask because you can get a pair of Pilot Sports from busters for £119.99 at the mo.

more like Cost vs Consistancy

I liked the old 012 SS's

There can be differences as to which country the tyre was manufactured in.
(and that's the same company and same model tyre)

I think they are around £130-00 for a pair (there seems to be minor fluctuations in price)

I've got Diablo's (I wouldn't use anything else, but that said I am not very brave at trying anything else in case I dont get on with them !!) on at the moment but was curious about the Maxxis, how they can be so much cheaper than the current crop yet seemingly match them for specification.

The Maxxis came last in Bike magazine test report along with the Continental Attacks. Stick with Michelin, Pirelli, Bridgestone or the latest Dunlop Qualifiers. You get what you pay for fella

I fitted BT016's last week and I have to say I am rather impressed.

Cost me £169 for the tyres delivered and £24 fitted and balanced.

Can't comment on the wear factor yet but the feel and grip is pretty amazing. Don't get me wrong, I ain't no Moto GP racer but I do have my moments.

Can't fault them at the moment, will report later if they start misbehaving.

was wondering about these myself as we were talking about them at the w/e. a mate with a gix1000 is going to give them a go so i thought i'd hang on & see how he got on with them:devious

BT016 for me. Best road tyre i have used so far, and i'v tryed a fair few on a fair few bikes.

I just got a pair of Pilot Sports from Busters for £119-00. They arrived next day and are waiting to be fitted to my OZ wheels.

Bargin if you ask me!!

Had 016 didnt last much more than 1000 miles, gone for BT021 dual compound now and swear blind by them done over 2500 miles on them, they have 020 centre and 016 edge, although everyone raves about 2ct`s so might give them ago.

I have 2cts at the moment, they were on the bike when I got it & so far they have put up with my abuse without fail. can't fault them realy:thumbup

doing quite a lot of miles, so tyre life as important as out right grip for me.

running boring old dunlops at the moment and did so on my zx9r.

Personally I dont see the relevance of testing tyres on the track, unless its for a track day.

I need good mileage, good steering, good grip dry and WET on the road, what do you all recommend for that??

was thinking about 2cts next
