It has to be Bridgestone 016 from now on. The best tyre you can buy. £210 a set though :(

Depends how you ride, I've heard the sports are a good tyre for the road. I have Pilot Powers on mine and so far so good £165 fitted and balanced:thumbup

£130 is a good price I think

2CTs for me. Ive gone for a 180 rear aswell as you can usually get them around £20 cheaper

Pilot Sport was the earlier version of the Pilot Power, a good tyre. The Sport is a little more rounded than the Power or 2CT.
Pal of mine has Pilot Sports on his Duc 998s and track-days it with no grip issues.

I run 014's on my Factory and like them, 016's are the next generation of Bridgestone so should be very good. Did run my old Mille on Pilot Power's but did not get on with the triangular profile.

corsa 111's for me too(tho I like the M3's I have on at the mo)

Hi Guys,

I'm planning a trip to the alps this summer and I'll be travelling from London. At the moment I have a set of 208rr and I can see they are developing at flat spot on the rear so I will be changing them before going there, or maybe I could use them to get there and then buy a set there....mmm too complicated. Which tire would you chose for this. Baiscally I wouldn't like to put a new set of tires and find I have a flat spot when I got to the alps. At the same time, I want to have as much grip as possible to enjoy the bends, main reason to go there really. Thanks in advance guys.

Sergi

I have used

Dunlop RR's, Corsas, Super Corsa's, and Sport but I really have to make the point here. I put my first set of Bridgstone 016 on a few weeks back and they are a whole level up from all of those tyres.

You need to feel them to appreciate what I am saying. Anyone else out there on 016 yet?

Metzeler sportec M3's are one of the best tyres to have once these have worn out going for diablo corsa III's

Sergi, i can recommend Michelin Pilot Sports. They are an excellent tyre that was a factory fitment on RSVR's in 2004/5. Excellent grip and wear on the road. I fitted a set last year to go the Alps and had total confidence in them wet or dry. My rear has done 4000 miles and has still has a bit to go yet.

They may not have the ultimate grip of the latest generation tyres as Hottrout says, but for road riding with excellent mileage and grip they are brilliant. The latest Pilot Sports are the same compound now as the new Michelin Pilot Powers

£125 a pair :thumbup

I got a part worn pair of Pilot Sports for sale if anyone interested? Rear is almost new, front still has some life left in it. Sensible offer accepted.

I have michelin power race (medium soft) on mine, really sticky when there at temp and the roads are dry, wouldn't want to push them in the wet/damp tho which isn't to bad as i really only go out in the dry.

And hottrout you sound like rossi going on about bridgestone so much :lol:lol:lol

thanks for the advice every one always run on michelins so i will give them a try its only £130 only i say

2CTs on my Mille and my TLs. Wet weather wickedness but a bit brownpanty if you cross a white line while on the lean...

I actually ride my bikes for commuting 135 miles round trip, and as well as my jap plodder, I now have a bright yellow toy to get me to work in a far better mood.
I need miles out my tyres, and lots of miles, I ride 27 miles of NSL single carriaway, 27 miles of NSL dual carriageway and motorway with 12 miles of London, so I need a hard centre with a sticky edge. I now run Michelin Road Pilot 2 on my plodder, and I read here that someone runs Bridgestones 016, which is meant to be a multi-compound tyre.
Any suggestions?

Michelin Pilot Sport or Michelin Pilot Power would be my choice. The new Bridgestone BT016 is an excellent tyre by all reports but i doubt you'd get more than 2000 miles out it
