Well the T has just had its first MOT with an advisory on the front tyre.
running qualifiers at the moment and pleased enough with them, the rear has plenty of tread so here is the dilemma.
Do I fit a new qualifier on the front, which will massively outlast the rear, but only cost about a £100 quid.
Or change the pair but what too.
Sportsmarts are what I keep hearing about but these are £330 a pair fitted.
Had Bridgestones on the last Bike and they were OK.
What do you Guys think ?

I`m a big believer in stick to what you know. If you`re happy with your current rubber I would be tempted to stick with it. Can`t see the point of throwing money away needlessly. £100 for 1 tyre sounds better than spending £300+. Or am I missing something? Just my 2p. I ran pilot road 2`s on my Tiger 1050 and stuck with them for 3 sets, brilliant tyres, don`t know what they would be like on a Tuono, but if they are ok would be tempted to stick a pair on when due new rubber. Got Pirelli Diablos on at the mo and seem ok. Don`t know what they`re like in the wet yet.

Its compleatly up to you, everyone rides differntly and uses thier tires differntly. i prefer dual compounds. becasue i like to use all the torque and pull wheelies so a lot of force is used in the centre.

Shaun FYI, i had Diablos corsa III on my SP1. there good, but they need a bit of time to warm up. when there warm, there good, but not the best in the wet. They also "chuck" a lot of water out becasue of the good tread pattern. So. yeah.. haha

I run corsa 111's and find them fine
mate of mine had pilot road 2's on his busa and loved them, so i think they'll be fine on the T

You don't have some front tire choice. You have what the rim to bike called for on the engineering side. Front as the rear run the same aspect ratio numbers, F&R. Stepping up from a 50 to a 55 say is you called the ball. Not what engineering called for and you have no case. Case is closed you spit it down the road and go looking for someone to blame.

Do I fit a new qualifier on the front is, yes. Yes, who cares, go for the gusto. Try a different set. The ones you hear about, do it and now, guess WOT? It's a fresh set, fr/rr. Some are not going to like it and too bad. They are your typical squids.

Hi, I'll buy this bike, oh look! Both tires roll out the showroom floor together. Rub both hands together, which hand stayed cool? Slow I'm a little slow here in the thinking dept, but if I see both tires roll together, and the only time there is no wear on one or the other tire is when they are in the air over a jump or a wheelie < Me, I'm speaking, and that short time in the air says I change both tires as a set, one wore less my *** [on the ground = Squididitire X's one side only].

I do not look at a power wheel and a steering wheel as two different wear patterns one is still good to go. Cup wear is a wear factor every time that wheel 360's, there is a wear pattern as equal to the wear you placed on the back. You just bought a new pair of shoes. Go wear the old shoe and a new shoe. Now, if you think I'm going to go riding and hooking corners with you... The **** NO! I will not even be close to you in the squid think. I think whatever you buy, buy tires as a set and remember both wear different to the eye but you and I know they roll equally worn the **** down. Glad it ain't my bike.

:thumbup New tires as a set = Sport rider/track rider/racer think.
:thumbdown I can only afford one = Squid talk. Squid excuse. Squid think. Squid written all over you. And that is my opinion like let the next ******* speak if everyone has a wrinkle w/carbunkles or without.

I prefer the Dunlop GP. I have had a few sets of these on my Tuoldo, part worns, and they have been fantastic. They seem to offer the same quick warm up and grip that the qualifiers do, but last a lot longer. I always go for used though, why pay £300 a set of tyres with 5mm of tread when you can get a pair that have been raced for a qualifying session for £75 and have 4mm of tread!!

Helpful and friendly advice is probably what most of us joined for and enjoy about this site.
When you ask a question of like minded people you expect a reasonable reply, accepting that
people will always have differing opinions but having a general grasp of what you are asking.
And then you get some twats

Mine are just Diablo`s which I think are a fairly old pattern tyre, seem ok in the dry, still getting used to the bike at the mo, never tested them in the wet yet.

He is from the land of squid ... silly!

I posted a "2know popularity poll" but the mods deleted it as it "was not helping"

I wonder if he is pivot table man ... or steak coupon man?

If he joined the site on the 8th July ... how come he's only just appeared as you know who?

143 posts?

Surely not all as you know who?

Is he REALLY pivot man?

I don't generally go for the latest tyre as i'll never outride it, I go for last season tyres and work out much cheaper, like my last metzeler m3 front was £71 fitted brand new! Sticky as hell wet or dry. Try something different........variety is the spice of life!
