Tyre Pressure...again

Hi, at the risk of going over a well worn topic... what tyre pressure is recommended for a 2004 Tuono Fighter? I have Michelin Pilot road both front and back.
The book states 36/42 but reading earlier posts there appears a huge variance which I guess is down to riding styles, rider weight, etc though 33/36 seems to be a popular setting...

Any help/direction appreciated

Dont get me wrong, I like to keep my tyres at the recognised pressures, but when you read about some of the pressures that they use in various forms of motor-sport, is it that critical ?

They like to run them a lot softer than we use on the road.

I must admit, I have come back from a blast & my arsehole has nearly fell out when I have realise that one of my tyres is soft & I could not detect it.

Not bang-on topic but I didn't want to create another tyre thread - had to reccomend these guys;
B&C Tyres in Bolton
Had a slow puncture, piece of glass in back tyre, I was quite ready to shell out for a new tyre despite loads of tread left. As it was centre of the tyre they said save your cash its an easy repair, 20 minutes later - sorted; cost £20 (should have been £25 but they had no change). No issues 500 miles later, cant even see the plug now.
Was always wary of tyre repairs but not now - although it is odd seeing someone take a drill to a tyre!

I did have mine at 33/36 and it felt like it wanted to wash the front on roundabouts, then found out the book says 36/42 so tried that and hey presto it's lurbery now!! But I am a Giant!!

Oh I'm running BT023's till they wear out and I'll get some proper tyres on but the last owner swear by these on all his bikes!!
