Hi , it has been well documented in previous posts about the difficulties i,ve had accessing the mode settings on my gen 2 .

ive just returned from a 1600 mile tour over 10 days of the west highlands up to Skye and Applecross . fantastic roads and scenery !

encountered only minor rain and no midges ! there was a bit of heavy rain 100 miles from home tho .

Ive just washed the crap off the bike after having removed panniers etc ,i thought id have a go at getting into the settings menu as the service icon came on whilst i
was away .

well fook me backwards straight in no messing , re set the time clock , re set the service icon and re set the shift light . cant believe all the bike needed was to get

fookin wet .

all working fine now --- of course it could have been the scotch mist !!:lol or is it just typically italian ???

Bet that put a smile on yer coupon mucker. :thumbup

fookin right there matey ! this has been a bit problematic for weeks . to the extent of replacing the left hand switch unit and aquiring a 2nd hand ecu to trial fit !!

I'm well aware of yer plight mucker and was watching with hope and interest that it could be resolved easily.

I was on a run to the Jurassic Coast in May with a few Fuds that were/still reside here.

The weather wasn't playing ball during oor trip (fookin soakin and seriously windy) when I got home I hit the function button to give me the sats of the trip only to find it didnae respond.

I gave the face of the button a liberal squirt of acf50 and closed the shed door.

Next time in the shed I tried again and hey ho it wiz working again.

BTW other than the indicators it's the most used switch/button on ma machine and I'd need to resort to full time satnav to keep track of when to stop for fuel.

Glad yer sorted mucker.

fuel stops !!! i think ive called at just about every fuel station between Alexandria and portree and back , expecting to get the usual **** fuel mileage , was pleasantly suprised to do more yes MORE mpg in scotland . probs that was due to following the jesse of a mate of mine on a vfr 800.

Those roads ain't fir following abod mucker, especially Glengarry tae Lochalsh,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the right hander once yer clear the 30 after Glengarry is fookin somethin special if yer know it lasts and diznae tighten.

Yer been ridin in ma back yard mucker,,,,,,hope yer enjoyed it.

BTW the fuel issue is ok on this route no matter how yer ride.

I did apple cross last year over pass of the cattle and we get eaten alive. August though.

My particular favourite was oban to baluachraig fantastic twisty road , semi sharp twisties with short flat out 4th gear straights .

will deffo return with some faster mates , but not next year as planning to go to normandy .

its a shame its too far for a weekend tho even the " quick route " is 375 miles

scottish road buliders put the rest of britain to shame , you lucky lucky peeps .

didnt once encounter the infamous bloodsucking midges either .:thumbup

Oh yea , devils elbow on the applecross road is a tad fookin scary epecially if you meet a soddin, motor home on the approach
