Hi everybody,
I am due to go on holiday to tour Scotland this Sunday, but cannot get to grips with my Gen II (2007)Tuono.
When it is cold it runs sweet, however when it will warm up to over 80 degrees, it starts cutting out, dies especially under acceleration. I can hear misfire some times (small bang from airbox). The weird thing is that when I turn ignition off and onn the issue dissapears for couple of hundred yards and then comes back. When it cools down it is sweet again until worms up... I checked all el. connections, found that front cylinder plug cap was broken (probably by me wrenching it off the plug) I replaced it with 5kohm resistor cap from NGK. No change. Coils measure 0.5 kOhm on primary (both the same) and 5.5 MOhm on secondary (both the same within 0.02MOhm) I really got no idea what can cause it. I need the bike ready for Sunday
Please, any ideas anyone?
Does anyone know what should be measured on secondary wireing of coils? I can't get any information anywhere.
The issue is clearly temperature related and only thing sensitive to this seams to be coils, but why switching the ignition off and on would make a difference?
It eventually dies when stopping on the lights and it is difficult to start like engine wouldn't want to turn, then it suddenly picks up and starts OK just to be jerky again. :banghead
