Out for a blast on the Tuono over the Horseshoe pass yesterday with a mate on his Hayabusa.
Stopped for fuel after 20 miles and bike was dead....just tacho needle flickering briefly but nothing else.
Everything looked ok but had it in my mind about battery connections, so disconnected and swapped batts wiyh Hayabusa (lucky).
All ok so put mine back in and bingo - good as gold since.
Is this par for the course? - batt terminals seemed clean with no corrosion - not really an issue apart from the inconvenience of resetting clocks etc .
Bike is a late gen1.

Yep, keep an eye on all connections mate, esp earths and battery.....on Aprilias it's a pretty common weakpoint, but no biggie.
It's easy enough to keep on top of it, and an easy fix when they do get loose/corroded.

Keep an eye out for plod when up at the Pondo ....the sneaky buggers are hiding everywhere (behing heges, walls, cars etc) since a spate of accidents.
Don't rely on being able to spot a camera van in the distance....those days are gone :)

Thanks Mr Tifa......

Previous owner was a dab hand with wd40 and pvc tape.....all looks ok now!

Thanks for tip about plod - didn't see one yesterday....hope that's because they were tucked up somewhere.....

as long as you keep off the main through routes you hardly ever see plod in wales, you do get loads at the pondy though, they go there for dinner when they are doing driver training.

keep an eye out at j&s as well if you go there, often get unmarked bmw's parked at the back of the car park.

they just meet up at j&s, never even seen them get out of the cars. never gave me a second glance when i turned up and my bike is loud enough to wake the dead.

Have you had a look at upgrading the battery to a 14volt? I did as mine was always having hissy fits especially if it hasn't been rode in a while.
