Can anyone let me know if they have had problems insuring a Tuono Factory recently in the UK?

I have phoned up and looked on the net for insurance, but I can't find the Factory model on any of the drop down lists? :dunno

Its a 2009 Tuono Factory R, which doesnt seem to be listed. I might be very daft and missing it?

bennetts have said they will have a look, but I can't believe that I'm the 1st to insure such a bike.

If anyone has any solutions plse let me know as my new toy should be with me in a few weeks.

Cheers

Nick

Ive just insured my new Tuono R with Bennetts. Even though its a new bike, its a 2008 model. Dealer told me that the factory havent made any 2009 Tuono models as theyre working flat out on the RSV4. Maybe worth checking that its definitely an 09 model (no offence ). I couldnt find an 09 model Tuono R in any online drop down box either - but congrats on the new Factory:thumbup

Should have read your earlier post about ordering it. I ordered mine on the 24th April & it arrived at the dealers yesterday. Mines definitely an 08 model depite being fresh from Italy

Thanks for the reply.

Well I think its the 2009 model as its the new black dream colours? don't think the model itself has changed apart from the new colour scheme?

I've spoke to the dealer who has ordered it from Italy, so have to wait about 4 weeks for delivery, if all goes to plan???????

I'm going to try just placing it as a Tuono Factory 2004 on, as this is best description.

Spoke to Bennetts and they getting back to me if this is ok? dealer thinks it should be as the only other choice would be the Tuono R 2007? Rock and hard place at mo.

Should be sorted soon

I had the very same problem and went with the Tuono R 2007 on the basis that 1) it's not an '04 and 2) it's still an R, just with the word 'Factory' on the end.

Did it all online and then phoned Carole Nash to check and confirm that this was correct. After explaining the differences he said it was not a problem. Job done.

I found Carole Nash to be cheapest this year beating both Bennetts and ebike.

my Factory is an'08 model and Adrian Flux/Equity Red Star had no problem locating for Insurance. I have changed broker but remained with Equity Red Star at a lower premium!! £285 including my R1.

I have know got the insurance through Carole Nash who uses Equity Red Star, They were able to locate the correct description of the bike and got me a grt deal.

Just waiting for the bike to arrive and get allocated its registration so i can confirm the insurance.

thanks for the responses.

HM, I'm looking forward to reading your initial experiences and grin factor. :thumbup:cheers

Hi there, I had the same problem with getting insurance online, ended up going with expessinsurance, the site got confusing as to which option to select the factory, so i gave them a ring and they told me which one to pick.

Also been to Speedaway's today for my first service and they've got some 2009 factory's in stock. First impessions - there's not too much different, seat and pillion seat cowl has changed thats it apart from the paint scheme.

After all the press releases, I was going to get the new one, till I saw the price. I chopped my black gixxer in for the new '08 model, so I'm happy with the brighter colours, and after seeing them both side by side in the flesh, dont think the difference is worth the money. Got my first look at the RSV4, trick or what..

I was looking for the old colour with the lion motif, but they were very hard to get hold of.
the dealer is a mate so he got me the new colour for only £700 more than the old, so thought what the hell!
Managed to put some tidy extras on 2, akropovic titanium and carbon end cans, R & G bobbins, new sprocket, datatool red 2 alarm, tail tidy, trick levers and screen. So it should be the bomb when its done.
How u finding ur new ride? I had R1 b4 and not much experience on v-twins?
Looking forward to it though.

Hi Mate, got the Akra's and 15T sprocket on and switched onto Map2. Been out today, I just can't stop thinking how awesome it is. I LOVE MY BIKE. Not sure if it's the power delivery or suspension that define's it, but boy oh boy, what a bike. Can't wait till it's completely run-in and I can rev it out.
Got a home-made tailtidy and scottoiler, and will be looking for a screen pretty soon, where did you get yours from?

U lucky bugger, i've been watching everyone else enjoy their bikes today. Hopefully not too long to wait now though.
i've got the screen from the dealer, not sure if I'll use it yet, wait till I see how the standard one goes.

Hope u keep enjoying the bike and it will be soon ready to unleash.

hi there
i had an 05 r1 and 06 gsxr1000 before that and shifted to the tuono factory and in my opinion the tuono is just the iceing on the cake,i just love it:yes unless you want the outright top end power of the japs just forget about them, you will love it,ive just hit 40 and my dad is 62 and has a triumph sprint st and guess what.after having a shot on my bike hes thinking about getting a new standard tuono for himself, hes not to bothered about all the bling the factory has so aint worth the extra money for himself,i had a duke 916 in 2001 it was a 1998 biposta and loved it but to be honest the power was pretty dull after mid range and very high running costs, kept it for 4yrs but got sucked into the jap topend power but thats somthing thats impossible to use on the road now,i honestly dont think you will find a better road bike than the tuono,ENJOY youll love it mate:yes:thumbup

Well I hope that my experience is the same as ur mate. Went into to see the dealer 2day and the bike is on the high seas, yeah!
It should be with the dealer later next week and after he has done all the mods I might have it by the following weekend. I can't wait till it arrives and already have planned my ride with a few mates.
Loved the R1 but am 35 now and looking forward to a more upright bike, hoping the Tuono will still excite me and am sure it will. One of my mates has one and he also has a GSXR 1000 k7 and prefers the Tuono.

So when it arrives i'll let everyone know. Pics to follow
