I have never fitted one to a bike however I run a similar system on a fleet of over 50 vehicles and have done for the past 10 years or so and find them very usefull :thumbup
if you are looking for a system in relation to anti theft then you need a different one mate IMHO and those are a little bit more expensive :yes
heard good things about these and no monthly fees, just top up the SIM when required and it has its own rechargeable power supply or can be fitted with an optional hard wire kit :thumbup
Prime Tracker | The Prime At Tracking Device from Ninja

Brooksy seems to sum it up nicely, the big brands are best avoided such as TomTom, Datatool etc. Of the rest Road Angel has the best rep and is a nice little product.

ok cheers for that, gonna troll the tinterweb and see what comes up, i was mainly thinking of using it for a Europe trip I'm doing in Sept, fancy doing the Alps from Austria to the Med coast and wanted me mates/mrs/me to be able to follow where we have been but if it gets nicked it would be nice to see where its gone

if that's the case mate you need to ensure that the data SIM is compatible for the countries you are visiting :thumbup if you need any help give me a shout :yes just fired off an e mail to my supplier to see whats on the market at the minute worth having :thumbup

OK cheers, hoping to do Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, hadn't even thought of what networks might be compatible with a Sim card

all networks will be compatible as long as your provider has enabled the roaming option, however charges can be a tad excessive when abroad so check with your network mate

Garmin Montana gets a good report from the adventure biking fraternity.

It can record routes as you ride along that can be down-loaded & viewed / edited as reqd.

You can create new routes at home & save them to your sat nav.

You can even share them with your mates.

Does ordanance survey maps as well - ideal for cross country, green laning, walking over the moors / hills etc.

he wants a tracking system not a sat nav :bash

main difference a sat nav wont let you know where your bike is if it gets stolen and its not a navigational aid :yes

Got a tracker fitted to mine and its great,
I get a phone call if it's moved without the ignition switched on.
Bit of a pain when I first had it and forgot to turn it on when moving the bike around to clean it etc.
But it does give me peace of mind because I know as soon as it moves more than a meter with out the ignition on I get informed.
