Alright guys, for all those who haven't checked the "open forum" recently, please see the threads started by myself regarding an RSV meet/run out...............Cheers.

Hey, I am a track novice and would love to have a go. I have to admit that I am sh*t scared about dropping my pride and joy, but I want to see what she's capable of. Anyone know of a track day in the southeast for novices..

Hi mate......think all tracks have a novice group on a trackday, if not it will be specified for "advanced/experienced" riders only......watch this space as i'm currently looking into organising track time for us all!!

P.S .....i'm a novice too, only ever done 2 trackdays here and the "ring" a few times so same boat as you bud...........:thumbup

Dont worry about being a "novice" , nor worry about embarrassing yourself - you ride at a pace you are comfortable with , it's NOT a race.
Tuition is available for a small fee , as I understand it.

I have done 14 trackdays over the last 2 years at least half of which I did in the novice group , I moved up when I felt comfortable not because my mates were there already.

Yes you will feel nervous its only natural, and yes your mates will all talk a good deal about how good they are, chances are they are just as nervous especially if they have only done 1 or 2 or none at all.

:thumbup hey buddy.pm me and I can help sort out your nervusness.all good you are only as good as your frist crash.donnie love to help out.I ran a racing school for a while out here in the states:devious

Smart! I'm sure we'd all love to hear any advice you want to give us!

:thumbup no problem anything I can help with.a303 lets take you first.in your picture you have the bike leaned over and your body is up right.if you slide your butt off and lean your body with the bike you will have better controll .stay smooth we all know that is a key factor stay as relaxed as you can the more relaxed you are and the less thinking you do the better off you are .ofcourse you want to stay focussed and look through the turns and hook up with someone who can show you the proper lines and do not worrie about speed it will fallow being comfortable at the task at hand is important.and most of all have fun. wacth the fast guys and see where they are breaking and the lines it will help.I hope this helps and be safe and make sure tyer pressuers are good and the bike is all good to go.donnie:biggrin

Thanks Donnie. That's a spot on assesment of that pic. It was taken at Cartagena in Spain on a four-day track trip (day one or two). On the last day we got tutored by a top racer and I did indeed get much further off and locked in on the tank and seat back. My lap times started tumbling and started dragging my knee at will. I'm definitly a convert to having someone show you the lines and what you're doing wrong. (Alas, the photographer wasn't snapping on the last day so no cool knee-dragging pics - like V Senna's awsome ones).

:thumbup Anything I can help out with just let me know.have you felt where the edge of grip comes into play yet ? that is were your knee really comes in to the game helping hold the bike up.Have you tried trail breaking yet:dunno .wow lots of things to do on two wheels. I wish I was back there with you guys those tracks are just awesome.again let me know if I can help out :biggrin. donnie
