Read a few comments from car track days and this is quite a short circuit and fairly narrow...... if you havnt seen the track i would go along and check it out to make sure your happy with it before you book.

Croft tiz but a stone throw from you..... bike days are quire rare tho due to noise restrictions - there is one in september but i think its sold out ?

Done Croft a few times in a car...... great fun but it allways rains...... allways !

Brooksy, I have been round that track at teesside a few times, mainly on go-karts.
There is an additional piece of track, that is used for cars & probably bikes, much more bends & twists up & down.
Its still very narrow.
I dont think our bikes will pass the noise tests though, plus I think you need full leathers.
At least its not far to push it home after an "off".

As Felix says, Croft is a propper track.

My mate is into rallying (& biking) & we went down there on one of their "set-up" days. That was quite interesting.
From that he has encouraged me to apply for a Group B - Navigators liscence, so that I can accompamy him on his propper race days.
I cant wait, he is a loony, rolling a car is just an occupation hazard for them.

Looking at the pic of the track, it doesn't look that big. As Olaf says, go-karts will be ideal on it, but you wouldn't get out of second on a bike.
I did a Suzuki performace riding day at Mallory yrs ago and enjoyed it. Wouldn't use my bike as I'm bound to bin it when the red mist comes down.

Good find Felix.
Did you see how far the forks had been dropped on the bike?
Looks more fun in the car tho'

well after all the comments i have decided on heading to Cadwell Park and making a good trip out of it with a couple of overnight stays

hey brooksy,
have you booked cadwell yet?
thinking of doing one myself, cadwell have one on the 19th dont they.
just picked up my 04 tuono on saturday so be good to get it on the track to see what it can do.... or what i can do more to the point.
I was either thinking of a track day or the track trainning day at teeside seen as i am vigin on the track http://www.pdsportsmanagement.co.uk/motorcycle.html
let me know if you get anything booked.
cheers.

Mark i like the look of the track training day at Teeside and may be a good idea before going to Cadwell, nothing booked at the moment and will let you know. where abouts are you based?

yeah i was thinking that too, I am sure it would be fine to get straight on the track but it can only help with a little coaching, I was chatting to some other guys who have done the one at teeside and they said it was worth doing so i think i am edging towards that one first.
i am based in Leeds so i am in-between Teeside and Cadwell, around 2 hours to each one, it will be a nice early start to which ever one i go to.
keep me posted mate.

Ok I have booked a track training day on the 11/07/12 at teeside, should be a giggle, let me know if anyone fancies coming along.

hey brooksy, you managed to get on the track yet?
that teeside thing was quite good, james Whittam knew what he was on about (as he should) and gave good advise but the track was quite small, worth doing tho.
After that one i have caught the bug and booked another track day at cadwell on monday 6th august if anyone fancies it.

not yet Mark as very busy at work, looks like you got your day at Teeside just in time as rumour is the trackdays have been stopped untill further notice :dunno

oh really, thats a new one for me as they are still advertising for the training day on the 04/09/12. maybe too many people are falling off or the noise is too high.
its an ok track when its dry but it is a nightmare wet and someone did fall off... and as i say far too small, but worth it for the training.
let me know if you manage to escape from work as i am sure i will be doing a few this year....... there is one on a Saturday at cadwell with nolimits but its £40 more for the weekend.

Raced all over but always Cadwell that lit my candle the most, brilliant circuit with vastly improved safety over last few years .Do some evening track sessions that work out reasonable also .

hey sagaman, yeah i heard good reports about Cadwell, looking forward to it, not looking forward to getting up early to get there though.
i just need to decide if my tyres are up the job now as they are only sports-touring tyres or if to fork out for some new ones... its expensive this riding business.

Yep costs a bit this playing on bikes caper, would probably manage just fine with sports touring tyres unless you going for the outright lap record !Tyre pressures is more important look at dropping pressure due to running at much higher temperatures on track .
