Yeah shows the difference in straight line speed between the Tuna and a Gixxer 1000. :rolleyes

careful, those are the kind of offers that get taken up on. When I was living in The Hague, I really regretted not doing a trackday at Assen. Won't make that mistake again.

i've heard those are hard to learn, the clutch being on the right hand side and all. :dowhat

every picture i've ever seen of bikes going over the crest of that hill at cadwell makes the rider look like a freaking legend :hail

The trick is to come slightly over to the right as you hit the crest, accelerating hard in second (varies depending on what bike), there is a very slight dip in the tarmac just before the crest which launches the wheel effortlessly (I cover my back brake - just in case) hey presto wheelie for the photographer.

Dont follow the left side white line as the track continues to turn over the crest & you dont want to get on the grass mid wheelie.

I am pretty lame at wheelies most of the time, but it's so effortless over the mountain.

I tried to get Gilles and have been told they dont do them for the '05 tuono????

Correct, Gilles do not make them for the 03 - 05 model.:thumbdown
but they are Gilles.:thumbup

They are 04 on RSVR adjusters, but you need to "adjust" the rear swinging arm to accept them.

If you can be bothered? :dunno

The ones I have were clearance stock - they have stopped making the red or blue for Apes, and as such were a bargain. To fit them you need to grind/file etc the channel in the swing arms straight. The casting or welding causes them to be slightly out of true, by around 1mm. there are also redundant bosses at the front of the channel that needs a bit of fettling to allow the adjusters to fit properly.

It's a bit of a Winter project, but they are sooooo much easier to adjust and align your rear wheel than the stock system, which is a bit of a ******* to put it mildly.

In this picture the retainers (stop them falling off when the wheel is out) have been removed, you can see where the arm needed a bit of grinding.

Oh - it WAS a Galfer rear disc - my rear brake was ever so slightly over adjusted when I went out at the beginning of the year (warm up the oil to do a filter/oil change), must have started to bind once things warmed up, all that was left when I got home were the stubs, and a lot of cast iron all over the rear Oz. :rolleyes
 
oohh.............."grind the swingarm" !!!!!

that would have to take a bit of thinking about!!!
