Some of you may remember my Project Cheap as Chips track bike that I built last winter for virtually nothing. It looked like this:

Well, this winter it has had a bit of a makeover and now it looks like this:

Apologies for the poor quality pic but the light was going as I got it finished earlier this evening.

I got hold of a radial front end from an 05 RSV-R, then managed to acquire some ultra rare Tuono racing carbon bodywork (nose cone and belly pan) which meant I then simply "had" to put a later 02 fuel tank on it, not to mention an 03 rear end to complete the look. Sort of a Tuono racing replica but still built on the cheap ;-)

Still a couple of bits needed to finish it off but it's almost done. If the parts come in this week, then one more day in the garage will see it finished! Can't decide whether I should do the wheels in white as per the original Tuono racing or not.........what do you think?

Jon

you have been a busy bear :yes looking good cuza :thumbup thinking gold wheels would look good mate :dunno

Gold..........................:coocoo

Sorry, no way are the wheels going gold! I used to have an 02 RSV that I de-stickered and had the wheels done red which looked good:

That might be an option here, but I'm drawn to the white 'cos the original Tuono Racing had white:

must admit they do look good mate, my wheels are going in next weekend and will return white with a red metal flake

Very festive Mr. B.

It will look good with your Father Christmas Onesey.:lol

The white wheels are a pain to keep clean.
Ps how'd u find carbon belly pan been lookin for one of them for ages

White wheels suit the bike so much though that I'm going to have to live with the pain of keeping them clean!

Picked up the carbon belly pan, racing nose, Ergal reverse shifter and Aprilia Racing Titanium can as a job lot on e-bay just before Christmas. The seller owned a Tuono Racing and had never fitted the race kit so it was all effectively brand new. Sold the reverse shifter as I wasn't going to use ...................you don't want ot know how little I paid for it all ;-)

Jon

Obviously the owner didn't know what he had cos they go for serious money. I've been on the look out for a while just to complete the bike back to origianl. Why fecking owners sold them on is a travesty.

If you're gonna have the white wheels don't get them powder coated but definitely get a clear laquer put on them. Makes them easier to clean. They do look nice and do suit the bike but I have to clean them every time I go out otherwise they look a complete mess and don't look nice anyway. I'd go for black if i was respaying them.

Not a travesty as far as I'm concerned!

I paid £460 for the lot on e-bay and then sold the reverse shifter for £60 so the carbon nose, full length carbon belly pan and the Aprilia Racing Ti Can, all effectively brand new, owe me just £400:thumbup

Being a Yorkshireman with Scottish ancestry I love a bargain :cheers

No, decided that they are going white. Going to have the Tuono racing graphics re-produced in white too.

Got someone to change the decals to white like this:

Trying to achieve a look that will seem, to the uninitiated, that the bike came out of the factory looking like it will ;-)

Track bike now looks like this with a set of white brembos:

Got a set of Oz's at the powder coaters being done white too and some white decals waiting to be applied!!
