Top Speed?

This has probably already been asked, answered and ignored many times over but its my turn.
Has anyone maxed out their Tuono and have any idea of the top speed? I only ask because I got my 07 T up to 157mph today before running out of road (and bottle) but I swear there's still some juice left.

On another note, I very nearly chopped mine in for an 07 Factory today as well but she in doors say nay. :(

I ride more than I drive these days. I have the luxury to jump on a little ripper like the T or on something that will take your breath away. So my turn says, I rip down an off ramp over 160mph, stab the front brake only and brake fade almost into the intersection. That sort of slowed me down to a more respectable 120-130 and I have plenty of coast to slow down after that adjustment.

My point is, when I take eyesore out and my test fails, I can jump on the other bike, reformulate myself to that bike again. WOT I've noticed about the steering is how pushing that kind of speed with that bike, and the geometry of the faster bike that can go [I won't go] up to 186 come back down before your T can run out of room going 150plus. I'm just saying what both bikes can do speed wise. There is no doubt there is more there in the T. It's obvious just running her up to 6K break in. Maybe you are a good rider, but I'd be scared to push this bike as fast as I do the other one. If I'm not 140 plus [no, not with the T not broken in yet] at the close of the day... It's like I never took a piss in the morning and am still holding it. Key knoWOTie mean?

YOu feel stable at that speed or is it walking all over the place and you're chasing it? I know 120 is nothing for this bike and feels stable. This is a quick steering bike no dobut. The other one you gotta yank it off its center. You can see the big bike snap back upright when I come off a corner. The T goes through there like butter, no chassis upset. But, that is slow street speed within lane.

They're meant to be good for 165mph on standard gearing, but most people lower their gearing which will lower the top speed slightly.

I've had 150 on the clock, but as it was dusk and raining I decided it was time to back off. There was a fair bit more to come.

I'm not that fussed about top end really, I ride mostly A and B roads, haven't been on a motorway for a long long time. I like the grunt out of twisty corners and rarely get up to over 110-120 because of the roads I like.
I'd happily sacrifice top end speed for more bottom/midrange so on the front what would better 15 or 16 tooth sproket?

I ken thit I kin **** ***** sometimes, bit this is awafaeit. Tmin, fit are yi ona boot?

Translation: I know that I can talk ***** sometimes, but this is away from it. Tman, what are you on about:

I had 150 oot o the T last time hame. I was weering mi big HG jacket (parachute) so it was flappin a bit. I reckon if I opened the T up once I got aroon the roundabout I coould have got even mair oot o the auld beast.

..an if ye emptied yer pockets o awe the dross that lives in there ye wid get anither puckley miles oot it an a!

Not into top speeds these days, thats why I bought the T, to slow me down. On sports bikes its was 150 every where, so easy to ride at those speeds, and I thought its only a matter of time till I get caught. Have done 135 when playing with an FZ1, but the wind blast is quite a lot then, so eased off

A mate has had his over 160 indicated, I took my Tuoldo over 155 on 16/44 gearing, the Factory I haven't been over 140 TBH.
The speedo's are reasonably accurate, and dropping the overall gearing actually improves speed in most cases as you get better acceleration and it can pull harder to compensate for the terrible aero.

The Tuono isn't a bike you should buy if speed is your bag, it's all about the twisties, I actually bought my first one in order to slow down, before I lost my licence.

it doesnt really work that does it bats ? i was the same. but to be honest its just made me quicker. (up to a ton)...

No, it just brings the hooligan out in me.

But to be fair before I was in cruise mode at 130 plus, with the Tuono I am exploring B roads and such and having more fun at 80-90.

Fastest on the T as recorded on the bike has been 138. To be honest thats irrelevant to me now, I bought it to keep below a ton for most o the time. Have done me bit with max speeds when I had a Busa. Me other bike GTR1400 is also far too easy to sit at silly speeds for ages so hence the T when oot on me own, keep below a ton most o time and more chance o keepin me licence, OK may well get points but at moment have some spare room for some.
Have dropped down to a 15 tooth front sprocket, may be time to up the rear, however I like both wheels on the ground and even droppin 1 down on the front has made things a bit more frisky.

150 is the most I have seen in fith I have no idear what it will do in sixth , this is on 16-42 ,gearing abowt to chaing to 16-43 . 15-42 is silly and I dident like it . going 16-43 to give me a bit moor out of hair pins :thumbup 50 seconds in to the sesh and I am letting the inlines have it ,cach me iff you can .

Whit were yer letting them have at 50 secs in mucker.

Novice group wae Stewart on a Tri Day 650.

Where are yer, and whit's tae see, sorry a ment sea.

I'm trying out a 15/40 set up tomorrow, maybe swap to a 42 if I don't like it, either way, the front tyre won't need changing for 3 years, the amount of time it'll be spending in the air.
