Tilt switch...??

Evening all,

first post on this site as i have not had much time to be able to ride the bike this year, shocking I know but after a weekend away with the lads and the bike behaving awesomely, bit dismayed now as when out on a blast the bike died with no warning whatsoever, no alarm function, nothing. the alarm worked eventually and thus the bike started, happy days but had almost made it ome when it died again. I am suspecting the tilt switch, I have found it and am looking to borrow a fluke and run some tests tomorrow, does this theory sound right to evertone, any and all advice would be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

Cheers

Skid

I must admit, I have been thinking of doing that, is it easy enough to do..??

Oh yes.
Just disconnect the power leads and remove the back up battery.Might go into alarm when you take the back off the box to get to it,...but it will shut up when the battery is out.Its then a case of tracing the alarm cables to where they are spliced into the loom.Make good the connections with solder and heat shrink,...crimps and tape,if yer rough!

I did a test on the tilt switch and it seems okay to be honest, if a little bit loose but works correctly.
I dont believe it is the side stand switch as tht just cuts the engine out and not all the ignition lights.

I think I have done all I can do so it will be atrip to the local bike shop, get it MOT'd and then taxed.
Cheers for your advice.

check the battery ...............................

There is a connection just behind the frame (left side) under the tank,

check the pins etc are clean

Do as KB suggested,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,he is correct about the alarm. :yes

Had a similar problem on mine whilst riding in the Picos and as usual the T picks its moments to misbehave :yes
tipped it into a very fast sweeping left hander when at full tilt the T just decided to shut down :crazy not much fun coasting with the clutch in at full lean and silly speed with a bike that doesn't want to play then all of a sudden she comes back to life just as I needed a bit of throttle to pull off the bend :banghead
never happened before or again :dunno
