Throttle cable issues

Just had a grueling few hours down the garage. Ive been working on the quick action throttle mod for the gen 1 mille. I finally got the cam to run smoothly and return to the stop as it should, adjusted the cables at the TB's, angled the throttle so as it would return at any bar angle then began to re-asemble. This is where it went wrong. I realised on refitting the airbox that i had to route the cables under the airbox bracket. Well that inch of movement stopped the throttle returning at almost any bar angle! Nightmare. The cables were fine before i did the mod and i have lubricated them, the throttle cam run seems fine so how do i sort this out?
Simon.

Hello Simon, try asking Griff, he told me about that upgrade, and says its well worth doing.. I'm certain he can tell you exactly what goes where.. Good luck

Im certain the cables are routed as they were before i dissasembled the throttle ect, it must be something to do with the adjustments made at the tb's. very frustraiting

I have just noticed the hooked style airbox dosent have a bracket and cable router anyway and as im going to add one soon ill leave the cables out of the clip, only trouble is without them beeing held in this position the top yoke seems to pinch the cables now an then on full lock which once again hampers proper throtle return.

Its an 02 model. Not sure if the cables are the same as the 99 or not, i would have thought so.

i remember Griff talking about a much later set for the 99, he said they have a new route, and offer much smoother response.. but that was for my 99 model.

Sorted it. If anyone has this problem or idle raises when turning the bars, hears what to do..
Take the cables out of the airbox clip, re-route the cables around the master cylinder line as opposed to beneath it. The cables now follow a more natural route with a less restricted curve in them. The left hand clip on bolt will now pinch one of the cables at full left lock. Change this bolt for a flat head / flush replacement. Make sure the throttle housing is at a slight forward angle and the jobs a goddun.

Wish you had a pick of this. I just got my bike back from having power commander installed and I can't figure the return out
