Nice bike but i would have said its quite expensive for what it is. You can get Gen 2 bikes for not much more than that.

Thats Batfastards old bike.

Like the man says....

It's probably the most sorted and well specced tuoldo you'll find. Assuming it's still in the same state I reckon it's the best Gen1 you'll find. Better than a standard factory

Contact batfastard for details. PS I know these guys have had it for a while so, if you're interested, try your luck with a cheeky offer

the ***** at it,,,,tell him we're in a recession, gie him whit ye think its worth an stick tae yer guns,,,,, a wee sales better than nae sale 5 weeks afore x mas dude

Offer 3, they can only say no. Don't say 3750 then they snatch your hand off, then you think , **** should of said 3500. etc etc.

Yes it's expensive for an R model, but it's pretty much Factory spec', with a better engine.
Rusty test rode it before he got his Gen 2 (remember that fookin pheasant?)
Price wise - take your uncle Nob's advice and go in cheeky, this time of year it's got to be worth a punt.

FWIW it's selling for pretty much the price I was given trade in this time last year.

TBH, if Mrs Fastard would have allowed it I would have kept it as well. :)

Thanks Nob. I bought a Gen 1 racing with 9k on the clocks for 5k. Well did a straight swop for a BMW R1200S.
Mind you mine does have all the trick bits and I'm happy with it. As for the 1st bike in this thread its a gen one and not a racing or factory one just looks like it. U can tell from the brakes. I think they must have done summat with the exhausts cos the Gen 1's are single pipe only which I prefer as its weight saving and half the cost to buy an after market one. ;)

Long sigh.

Yes mate - read the post above, it's an 05 R model, modded & upgraded over the years I had it. Doesn't have radial brakes, but if you ride bikes back to back with the same brakes radial and non-radial you will discover that radial brakes are snatchy and are no more powerful.

The exhausts are the Aprilia/Akrapovic 2+2 Titanium Evo system, stainless steel headers, Ti links and cans. Repacked by yours truly in 08.

Please note the 2+2 system is about 3 kilos lighter than the 2-1 system with an Akra can, the whole system only weighs about the same as the stock can. The improvement in engine performance with a 2+2 exhaust is about the same as fitting the 1060 big bore kit, why do you think Aprilia fitted 2+2 systems to their later models.

I stand corrected batfastard. Mind you it is still cheaper to buy a single can u have to agree on that onje
