Hey everyone

I've been thinking of joining the world of the RSV. Love the looks and quite fancy 1000cc of v-twin! Looking particulary at a 2006 rsv1000R

Just have a few questions hope some of you can give me some guidence on, or at least point me to the right thread!

Coming from an sv650 with one year of riding under my belt, would you say the RSV will be too much to handle, or not?

Hear a lot of stories of problem dealers, parts difficult to get hold of etc, opinions? or good dealers to see?

Final one, can anyone list, or direct me to one, things to look for when buying, common faults etc, and ideally what you thikn i should be looking to pay for above mentioned model!

Help greatly appreciated!

Cheers
Stu

dude you wont have any problems coping with the power ....TBH you'll love the extra power. if youve done a year on an SV the mille will be the bollocks i promise!!

where abouts are ya mate....i hopefully will point you at a good dealer and parts arent an issue really....well no more than any other marque...the spare parts is just spin...them days are over!!

any problems just gimme a call i'll help no worries!!

Griff

Like the sound of that then, to be honest ive been set on one from the off but insurance was the bugger!

Based in Sandbach, south cheshire if you know anywhere?

Why not get proper bike and get the original Twin thumper a TL :thumbup
You'll never have to look at those April thingy me bobs again. and the insurance company won't think your a tw@ and charge you a fortune? Parts are easy, exotic upgrades are available. And when your missus thinks she's had the best .. sit her on mine :lol

:thumbupgo for it stu , they are a great ride, just like I imagine my next door neighbour to be:thumbup

stu, friend of mine had an sv650s for about a year then jumped on the mille. loved it. easy enough to get along with too so no problems there. you will like. as for parts and stuff, i believe a quick scoot down the M6,M5 to see the griff man at aprilia performance and will sort u right out!

A bike will only go as fast as u twist the throtle ,,,,,,,,, Griff will sort u any parts / advice or servicing,,,,,,,,,,, u aint that far from him ,,,,,, :thumbup

Yes
I can recommend also came from SV650 family to RSV family incidental...

Have not regret if a bit...

Its not the power its the twist of the wrist you must be worrying about.
To SV you need quite some mods to make it smooth and fast on narrow twisty roads where the ape is ready for it as it comes.

All sounds very promising!

Think ill have to spend too much on the SV to get it to go round bends better so im pretty much sold!

Also good to know a decent dealer isnt too far away, dont mind the trek if he's got a good rep which Griff seems to have! Oh and of course a good group oin the forum makes life easier!

Well hopefully wont be long before I get it sorted, will let you all know how I get on!
