So if other brands followed Aprilia and made a full on naked version of their sport bike would you be tempted ? :yes

I think a naked full fat BMW S 1000 RR* would be a tool

I think part of the charm / attraction that gives them so much character is the V-twin.

A big part of it is the noise they make with alternative cans.

A jap 4 just would not have the same stomp from low revs.

Maybe a speed triple at a push.

But look at Ducati`s bigger streetfighter, IMO that has failed to improve on a V2 Tuono.

For me when I changed over from the BMW R1200S is was the sound. Even with a full Akro pipe on the BMW Horizontal twin sounded tame to me. Just never had the raw edge the T has.

Thats wot it is for me the sound I've always had the opinion that the v-twin sound is wot a motorbike should sound like and I've been promising myself a T for god knows how long....JMHO

But look at Ducati`s bigger streetfighter, IMO that has failed to improve on a V2 Tuono.
Borrowed one of those for a day,....hated it.:thumbdown This one was a demo bike straight outa the crate.Fuelling was way off,...riding position awfull,...and the most awkward switchgear ever.Could'nt wait to take it back.Likewise the Ducati Monster S4RS,....fabulous looking machine,....sadly the riding experience was'nt.:thumbdown
Speed Triple,......hmm,now there is a bike that could tempt me away from the T,.........................................but not yet!

Its the V twin mota that does it for me too.
I had a Sprint ST yrs ago and enjoyed it, but the twin is so much better.
I've riden the new speed triple, yeah its a nice bike, but not enough for me to change

i love the big v twins (not harley) id like to try a super duke its the tank range that i don't like they recon about 60-70 makes the T look good

huv owned awe sorts ower the years, sports, supersports, Ducs, tourers an test driven the V4 jobbie but cannae think o a bike oot there that wid replace the overall ownin an ridin experience that is ma Tuono

sp2 naked... now that would do it fer me.. thought many a time of streetfightering one meself, but tme and funds... blah blah..

I can't think of ANYONE that would be stoopid enuf to trade their Tuono for a Streetfighter... *coff*

My T is the paradigm of comfort and ridiculous fun wrapped into one bike. However, as me first bike was an auld Z1-R, I would love to see a ZX-10 nekkid. Crazy power and still retaining a shitload of torque. Screw the Gixxer and Bandit 'fighters... that 10 would be a mean mutha!

Bikes are getting better all the time but my old Tuoldo is still more bike than I can handle. What I like about mine is how easy it is to ride slow. Fuelling is spot on. Powers there if you want it but can be a ***** cat riding through town. People go on about all these new bikes but I wouldn't swop mine for a Gen 2 let alone the new V4T.

Sometimes you just have to be happy with what you have I think. Give me a V4T and I'd be no faster than a good rider on a Tuoldo.
Its just about the riding experience for me. I've had new bikes but its just the character of the one I have at the moment I just love. I'm not sure the new V4T has the character thing for me.

Nice bike for sure but not sure I could look upon one in the same light as me old Tuoldo. Just summat about it for me. Loved it the 1st day I rode it. The previous owner must have been mad to get rid of it.

Ok before I throw this out ,I will point out I am an ex motorcycle instructor so have seen this 1st hand

I totally get the sound and feel of V Twins thing , but in my experience a lot of riders how did not get on with IL4,s or said twins felt better were not riding the IL4 in the correct gear.

The majority of riders I saw riding litre IL4, were cruising @ 3/4k on a bike that revs to 12k so when they get a twin with all its low down grunt they suddenly get a turbo.ese sensation .
Had they kept their old bike @ 5/6k they would have enjoyed it much more

I like IL4,s I like the sheer violence of double figure revs  ,I like triples and thumpers and twins too , I just don’t think they are better (except the noise I had a CCM R30 on a race can and it would make you do a *** wee if you heard it)
I bought my factory because it’s such a good package OZ , Ohlin’s ,Brembo ,ackro etc but if I could I will slip the mill out of my ZX12 in it for the perfect bike lol

I love my IL4 Hornet 900....I've had it for 7 years now, and it's done everything I've asked for it and more....sure, it's not as involving to ride as the Tuono....but it's never let me down either.

Also as much as I love my Tuono , sadly I will never buy Piaggio again....ever....when the time comes, (and I hope not too soon,) it comes...

A bike to tempt me away? A full fat Fireblade deffo...I'd buy one in a heartbeat....the neutered, bacon slicer wheeled CB1000R version just doesn't do it for me...

Speed Trip is also on my radar...but **** me, those yokes and fittings look crap next to a Tuono...

Bigralphie, I used to ride my GSXR1000K7 around about 5-6 thou revs. Used to handle a lot better in bends etc at those revs as you say. I still think the Tuono handles better at about 4 to 5k as well and thats why I don't tend to get into 6th on the roads I ride.

I still dind't like the GSXR as a bike to ride though. It just did nothing for me. I always wanted one and when I did have one found it was a big disappointment. I find theres more to riding a bike than just sheer speed. Perhaps on the track it would be a different thing but the roads aren't a track and I prefer a more useable everyday machine.

I always liked the high revs of the jap 4's and was not impressed by the V twin sound, but then I purchased my T, love at first ride, the sound, different looks, riding position and when I pull up at a meet, I am not in a huge row of the same bikes..Plus my paint job is awsome IMO...fD

You cannot polish a turd

Fechters must have a twin providing the noise thrust torque and talk

Who was the chap knockin out Tuonozone stickers on here? ... I have some and lovely they are too

"Torque to me"

"No time for small torque"

"Let's torque"

"Torque sexy 2 me"

"Twins torque a lot"

My god ... I've had an epiphany

Thing is if everyone rode the same bike and liked the same bike wouldn't life be boring. I'm sure theres people out there don't like Tuono's.

I watched Cafe Racer last night on Sky and they turned a 750 Yamaha Virago into a lovely looking cafe racer. I sounded great, looked fantastic and apparently according to the 2 test riders rode brilliantly except on right handers. As the builder said though he didn't build it for racers to get their knee down.

Its amazing what some people can do with bikes and their visions.

I know where you arecoming from Big R with riding an il4 they do need to be revved to get the best from them. I ad a 636 before the T and you had to get to 8k before it started to work. I enjoyed it for quite a whilw, as well as the many others I had before it, but, Im now more of a lzy rider, and the torque of the V twin does the job fine for me now.
Horses for courses eh

I do like it when my Blade comes on chat! There is quite a rush, bu tbeing a lazy fooker I like the T as it's more a twist and go alot of the time.
