hi all, just come across the forum while researching what i think will be the next bike. looking at about an 07/08 tuono to replace my sadly missed yamaha R1.
also considering the same year superduke. but having owned a ktm before im swaying towards the aprilia.

any tips on what to look for when buying would be greatly appreciated.

cheers

lee.

I went from a 04 ZX 10 to An 08 tuono factory I considered a KTM super duke but after riding it I was well put off it doesn't do anything as well as a Tuono I have ridden KTM super motos for years so I'm not just talking *****, if you can afford it get a factory although the R is still a fantastic bike, what you give up in outright speed you more than make up I'm manoeuverability

ctd are you on the uk ktm forum as same username? sure ive seen you there?
ive also been looking at 950sm / 990sm.
basically big v twins. not bothered about the top speed the R1 had. i had a 690sm a bit back and loved it. but anywhere near a m-way and it was terrible.
few lads have said the tuono is quite skittish compared to a sd? what do you reckon?
oh and the factory is out of budget. reckon after the insurance pay up ill have £4500 max to spend. seen some really nice 07 - 08 bikes for that.

Yeah that's me CTD had KTM's for about 5years now love them but only the smaller super Moto stuff the super duke didn't seem to do anything well ,people on the KTM forum rave after them but it's just not my thing the tuono is in a different league much better at everything

You aint from the Telford area perchance Leob

Best way to make your mind up is to have a test ride on one.

Find a bit of twisty road that you used to ride your old jap 4 on & you will realise what you have been missing.

I am sure most people on here would agree that words can not truly describe the feeling you get whilst having a goods blast on one of these.

Its better than Oil of Ulay for making you young again.

Can you tell I like mine, and its not even a factory.

PS, get a blue / white one, they are the muts nuts, loads better than those other bland colours.

yeah saw that bike on ebay. very nice. If it was in my price range id be on it.

Hi leeob, check out my ad in the for sale section, there's pics of the bike on that, if you need any more I'll be back off holiday at the weekend.

Hi Brooksy, the Akras are still fitted at the mo but if I end up part exing it then I'll probably take them off and sell them separate. Will keep you posted.

no mate, im over in wigan.

Suggest you log on to Tuono World. Nob is from your way & his mate is selling an08 factory in white with gold wheels. 5000 miles can't remember the price but will probably drop from asking price I thinl it says. may be a bit out of your budget but worth saving for if you can hold out for a while. he may take a deposit.

Cheers micky. had a look and thats a really nice bike. but cant see my budget and his sale price ever getting close!
