Yep proper baffles. Innis or outis. Our maud pays more for shoes than these were. Sneaked a peak on ebay yesterday looking for a belly pan and these had been on 5 minutes with a rediculous BIN so I did :yumyum

hob, I read a Witch Can report on them a while back.

I seem to remember that there was a bit of a problem with them regarding the back pressure.

Seems they were to efficient at removing the spent gases and that they caused the valve seats to burn out.

Nice lookin can though. :thumbup

Nob , they look about the same dimensions as the danmoto ones I bought, I ended up ordering baffles for mine, they actually fit between the mid-pipe and can. This stopped the idle hunting up and down, which makes sense with what Aldo has said regarding back-pressure? but the bike has lost some poke.I'm going back to the cored standard pipes cause it just runs so well with them and they sound nice and deep.
You've had quite a few different set-ups from what i've seen, Which in your opinion has performed best?
Sorry for the threadjack,
Cheers !

Ey up Irving, these are going on the Fuono. The only magazine called 'Which Can' Aldo reads is about Strongbow, Bulmers or Magners and its free from Aldi. Cans are all much of a muchness, its only if you go extreme stubby or huge diameter you get a bit of funny running, and you can go on a dyno and set the bike up properly anyhow.
For the T I like me carbon Arrows, but for looks I prefer the satin black Aprilia racing ones. But for sound its hard to beat the Ape Ti ones like Batfastard has on. Everyones got different tastes though eh, I personally have never liked any Akras but their obviously superb. I've got some no make ones on the Fuono at the mo and they sound ace even with the baffles in and the quality is as good as anything I've seen.
I was in a well known exhaust manufacturer/distributers a while ago and they were taking a delivery of what could only be end cans. Tonnes of em all in boxes from Japan and none had any brands to them. Make your own mind up about that one.
I've had umpteen cans on me Prillas, big brands, no brands, cored, baffled etc and to be honest I've not noticed any difference in performance in any of em.

nob, hee hee.

Ain't bin near the orchard fir a while now.

Im not a carbon fan Nob but they look great

With that bung in There will be plenty of back pressure

I took the rsv out round my street the other night with the cored and shortened cans and was getting hunting etc

I thought **** is this thing gonna play up then it ran out of petrol

Feckin fud :lol

Thanks for the reply Nob,
Here's some photos for reference if anyone is thinking of the Danmoto carbons.

PS.
I had a look at the online version of Which Can today and it looks like rubbish, probably published by the arsehats at MCN.
I much prefer the more erudite "Can Fanciers Monthly" This months feature "Blue Flame - Should I or Shouldn't I ?"

Cheers

Don't like the idea of not having a strap round the ends, the rivits look a bit diddy to hold them buggers together. Have you got them Irv ???

But saying that. If their ok for a year or so you've always got the link pipes. Endless possibilities then ;-]

Nob, the link pipes only seal by the pressure of the retaining springs as the joining flange slips inside the header and can't be clamped.
Your Fuono numbers look like they have had a bit more thought go into them.
Fitted the standard (cored) pipes back this afternoon, thats how it will stay for a while.
I love riding this thing.

I mean the ends of the cans bud where their are no straps around the carbon. If any packing is gonna blow outits likely to be there. Even if theirs a steel sleeve under the carbon. Dunno bit suss imho.

Yes Nob,suss indeed, straps would seem a sensible move, however this is how all of their carbon cans are finished; according to my mate Vernier the skin is around 1.4mm thick, with rivet head around 9mm diameter so not too bad.
However they they will be winging their way to Evilbay shortly
Cheers
