I am pretty sure my Yusa 14 YTX 14 BS is on its way out so I need to get another in the bike sharpish.

I have researched the forum and found these three that look to be favourites.

Can anyone tell me which is best. The first looks the favourite, but the second has more CCA. Third is a bit of a wild card.

Any advice anyone?
 
Dunno which is best out of those Dan. I have a GTX 14-BS on mine with no starting issues. I think it was recommended for a Buell 1200 and a BMW GS :eatcornbut it works for me :biggrin
 
If you are flush get the SVR , its got a 250cca rating and is made by the same people that make the Westco.
Alternatively get an Odessy , which is pretty much top of the pile for battery's but about twice the price.

The Westco id approx £50, the SVR £70 and the Odessy over £100

Just how good is the odessy PC310. I see it's a direct replacement for the YTX12 BS.
Thing that made me stop is the fact that is was 10ah, but it has a mssive CCA 310???

What do you think?
 
I got the Westco in the first link, no problems with it at all, starts my bike better than the Yuasa's ever did
 
I'm not sure, i had a spreadsheet with battery prices on it and took it from there.

I reckon 310 cca is great but 10amp must be just a little too low if you have or are planning any accessories

Some of them seem a tad too big:confused:confused
 
Best for a 13.5 amp battery is RSVR RACING.They supplied my 13.5 AMP Dynavolt.Regards AL
 
Sorry mate, not sure.....I bought a 14amp battery off e-bay which appears to be fine, although it's taller & the seat just about locks down!
 
Get the highest spec you can afford that fits the battery size the closest.
I have a Westco for my 2000, albeit untested , but it fits perfectly.

My new optimate has brought the battery back from the dead.

Yet more money saved!!!!!
 
Is anyone on here actually happy with their standard battery, or has everyone changed them?

Yep, never had a problem with my batteries an any of my 2 previous RSV's. I've always fitted a Varta YTX14BS and kept them hooked up to an optimate when when the bike's parked up in my garage
