I'm up for some more track day antics again this year now I've sorted a new steed. Can't make this one as a tad skint from Xmas. Enjoy & let me know any future ones you book up me old mucker!

back on topic never done a track day, whats the attraction? is everyone bonkers ?
Simple, you can push yerself and your bike to the limit with no fear of cops, speed cams and oncoming traffic.Even better if yer do one with a few mates,...oh the utter joy of lapping one of my mates at Cadwell and flicking the vee's as I went passed.:yesBastards made me buy the beers afterwards tho!:cheersDoes'nt matter how fast/slow you are, there will always be someone faster/slower.Great fun.

Seconded. All traffic going the same way, no junctions, man hole covers, strip banding etc... Only time you can push the bike to the limit, which you'll never reach, n if you bin it, it's your fault, unless someone take you out!

If you've not done one, do it, but remember theirs always someone faster. Done a few with my mate who races at bsb level. Out in the slower group, felt good had fun & they moved me up. Out of my comfort zone, they brake later, accelerate earlier & turn tighter. Managed to wobble round but lesson learnt, I ain't that fast.

Change gear mate and get in the fast lane.............

we all like a laugh so give and take ................. (don`t get personal).........................simples

Ive only done knockhill so this year I have bought a van and im heading to Englandshire for some trackdays and maybe the Nurburgring

The 8th of feb sounds cold though nob watch out for icing on the tyres :crazy

Even my wife has now done a trackday on my Rsv too as her nelli was sick

It was a womens day and she got really competitive and almost binned my bike, I had only got her 2 weeks before

Be or reet, won't it ??? Better had be. I did on at the end of Feb last year and it was really cold on the way down but the track was fine. Fingers crossed.

I did one in December once. It was absolutely ****** freezing. I've got a photo somewhere of me wobbling around wearing a wooly scarf

Biggest problem was the greasy surface; I've never known so many off's. Of the six of us that went together, two had fairly big crashes, one of which was an ambulance job (collarbone)

.....but you'll be reet :yes

Never done Oulton (never even been there!) but wouldn't mind, it looks a good circuit. Good luck in the cold nob!

It's a lovely place. Me and the boy went round the track on bicycles when we camped at BSB and the surface is faultless

I'm jealous (except it'll be February)

All you nutters doing track days in the winter are braver than me. Done the dragon rally in wales a few times which usually involves riding & camping in snow for the weekend so not adverse to riding in the cold but learnt the hard way racing motocross bikes. Getting changed in the back of a van at -something, doing practice n hitting the triple jump for the first time with your knees taking the brunt of landing on frozen ground or binning it after pushing to hard all hurts. It's why we love riding eh!

Nothing like it is their, mind you Oultons the only place I've tracked on and I've got to try more tracks. I've been round a fair few times now and it is lovely because its so open and fairly wide. My favourite bits are probably when you come up to the last corner at Lodge and when you get round you can see the grandstand and,,,,,,,,,,,BANG, you really can batter it, probably the only place where you can give it a big hand full. On any of the races you see it looks pretty flat but it isn't, their's a lot of rises and after the first bend in to Cascades it really drops with a nifty twist before the bottom left.
One of the bonus's about going early is it should be pretty quite which is ideal for a first outing of the year. Only 50 quid AND its the full curcuit :)

I'd seen it before. Oulton is normally about £160+ at normal times so would be a absolute bargain if the weather is OK. Definately worth the risk if you're local

I'll keep an eye on it and the weather (along with every other cnut, and probably miss out)
