As you may have gathered, I like my Twins.

Interesting to note the greatly varied and lengthy backgrounds that many of the members have. You Brits have an easier access to some very kool machinery (the 916 and the VFR 400 fer example) than us from the Colonies. My point being, that after testing so many different rides, we all ended up on the Tuono. I feel justified in saying that the Tuono is a bike for the dyed in the wool RIDER!!!

Cheers, mates! Here's to all the RIDERS!!!

Starting from when dinosaurs ruled the earth.

KTM 50 - don't ask what model, home made - 6 yrs old
Suzuki 80 don't ask what model, home made- 8 yrs old
(Father raced in speedway his way of encouraging the 2 sons)
.
Yamaha FS1E - Rocket compared to todays 50cc things. 16
.
Honda XL250 -On a Provisional at 17 yrs old
Honda TL125 - Tried trials for a year or two
Jawa 500 and JAP 500 - tried speedway and grass track - nowt like old man
.
Vespa PX125 - an end to a means in Edinburgh
Vespa PX 200e - an end to a means in Edinburgh
Honda XR 500 - Fast, tax free and great on wheelies but a lump
Pan 1100 - not mine, firms bike but treat it like my own
Bandit 600 - Not bad
Bandit 1200 - Better
VTR - SP1 - getting there and discovered my love for V twins
Suzuki Intruder 800 - after accident I could get leg back over
Bandit 1250 - Not as good as 1200 but had ABS
Buell XB9S - Farmer Giles and his piles - pain the ***
Tuono 1000 r - Happy man
and that's all folks.

I also had a breeze 4 that had 2 speeds, 4mph and 8mph - but it had 4 wheels and was an electric mobility scooter for 3 years - great for running the balls of the dogs in local park.

Jeeeeze, I must hang on to my bikes waaaay too long.

1980 or so - Suzuki TS400 went like stink, handled like *****, but I loved it, and I still have the scars to prove it.

1981 Suz GSX 750 - not enough 'go'

1982 Suz GS1000G racked up 160 000km on this bugger all over the country - even lived off it touring and camping for two years. Great bike.

In between - Honda XL350, and Kawa 100 trailies

1993 Suz GSX 1100 POS

Happily divorced and remarried

2006 1987 Honda XL600R. Still my commuter

2008 Tuono 1000R. Like Shvl says, a real riders bike. Ferking awesome.:thumbup
