Just traded in my 07 Blade for a Tuono R,only done 700mls,got Akros on and had map switched, first tank full 81.7 miles to light, second tank,86miles.Had an Sp1 thought that was bad,but I cant even get to Whitby on a tank.Any ideas/suggestions,Im not even riding too quick yet, only got it yesterday, what will it be with spirited riding.

I've had just 75 miles before the light came on , although it was at the TT whilst doing an early morning run. Plenty of throttle = low mpg on these bikes but they do get better on the mpg as the miles go on the clock.

On 16-42 gearing coming back from Portsmouth this week I got 120 miles before the light came on whilst doing a steady 80-85 up the motorway, thats on Map 2 with a DNA filter and fully cored cans, normally I get about 90-100 miles before seeing the light

Its the price we pay for having so much fun :thumbup

if you ride sensibly to get better mileage your missing the point of having a T!
nice to see you both local....... Please stop and assist if you see a fat bloke lookin in his empty tank of a 56 plate T and I'll gladly do the same for you :)

Thanks for that info, its not about the cost, its the hassle of gettin caught low on fuel-try goin to Cadwell park early Sun morn and relying on rural petrol stations being open.Read a lot of other posts-which I should have done first, bear with me I am new, would be happy with 100 mile tank range

The fuel warning light comes on notoriously early - only after about 11 litres gone out of nearly 18. With mixed highway and hooning (did I say that?), I can get 200km to a tank. Plenty for me even in this big brown land.

Like Falco says - it's the price you pay.

BTW, welcome to the Zone Baldy. Enjoy your new T.:cheers

PS: love the name. The boys will have a field day with it - at your expense, of course, and all in the name of fun.:thumbup

Hi Baldy. Chunky is right about the light coming on early. I've done 30+ with the light on and only got 16.5 litres in.
I was out the other day, and thought I'll see what I can get riding gently (for theT) and the light didn't come on till 104. Worst I've had was 75.
So I would say you can comfortably do 100 miles without having to re-fuel.

Even thrashing the arse out of it I can get 100 to a tank (trackday)

Why not stick a gallon can on the pillion and go off for a ride until you run out - then you'll know where you are.

I can get 130-140 on the road, my wife gets wqell past 150 on hers. :cheers

Will do the can on the back bit and see what I get to the tank full, suspect its more a case of the light coming on a bit too early,as you all suggest, apart fromthat little hiccup its brilliant, totally unlike the Blade-think it may be a long friendship- me and Aprilia

Mpg is a continuing mystery to us. Everyones getting different ranges and and in different riding techniques, styles and curcumstances etc. What no ones mentioned yet is the possibility of petrol stations being a bit 'ahem' inconsistent with their measurements.???

I look at it this way. Realistic full days razzin around, what 200-250 maybe 300+ miles equals 2 maybe 3 fill ups @ £12-£14 a tank. Equals less than £40. BARGAIN.:thumbup

What makes me chuckle too is that the price of juice gets everyone going, but we think nothing of spending several hundred quid on cans.:yes

How many jackets have we all got, boots, lids etc etc etc.

Definitive answer to this question really. A 5 litre glug-glug will let you test your range. Trouble is, a Tuono's thirst (I was going to say "economy" HAH) varies so greatly with the flexibility of the rider's right wrist.

Is this now an official mpg thread ?:banana

Mines got excellent economy at the moment because he's still at the fookin garage having the cans fitted. Nob ends didnt have the parts ordered until I took him down there even though I booked in a week before.:pisser2

Yes Nobi. This is definitely, probably, almost for sure the "Official" MPG thread No37.

Why'd you leave it with shitforbrainswhoforgottoordertheparts if the bits weren't there waiting for you Nobi? You could be out riding checking your low fuel warning light:banghead

Took said beast down to garage as arranged on Monday. Been busy so rang Friday to see if job was done. 'Nope' they replied. 'We only ordered bits on Monday and they aint arrived yet'. Not pushed them because they've not done the high level job on the new T before. They're usually pretty good and do a nice job so I'll give em till Tuesday night then I'll be going down there opening up a can of wup ***.

Get this, I'm having my new Ermax screen painted so it matches the bikes colours. They said it would take them 2 days. How long ?
7 weeks.:banghead
Been promised it tomorrow. Better be fookin good. Ironically in the time they've had it I've realised the standard screen is easily good enough imo.

While I'm on the rant. Been to yet another Printer prick. 'Yes sir we can do that sir'. Nothing.:rant

:jack the lot of em.

And I thought this place had the worst customer service in the world. That sucks. How do these printers and bike shops keep trading?

I must have misread your cans thread Nobi, but which cans is Ollie getting mate?

Are there any problems letting it run out of fuel with efi?

Ever pushed a bike 10km???

AFAIK, once the tank is refilled, the pump should re-prime itself and away you go, not like a diesel which requires bleeding of injectors. Just an educated guess, mind you:dunno.......Someone who knows for sure might like to comment.
