I am now really thinking about Griffs http://apriliaperformance.co.uk/spares-accessories/ap-parts/

But since I am 6ft 6 (with a 36inch inside leg) and size 14 feetI really want some that do go back and down from standard also I only have 30% vertical movement in right ankle (Yup bike crash 20 yrs ago!) and I have heard that some people have had to take their feet off to brake!!

So who has some of Griffs or other makes and wants to share their thoughts???

Ask Trickymicky, he's a big fella (not quite so tall - think he's 6'3"ish) and has some on his Gen2.

I am sure he'll be along soon to comment :thumbup

I have them on mine (on the bike when I bought it) and I,m really strugging to understand how they can be set lower than stock ,mine on the lowest available holes are a good inch higher than stock.
Tricky sent me a pic of how he has his set but they are a different design to mine (his are black, mine are silver) the hole patten is different.

I have kind of got use to it (i,m 6ft4) but I wish they were lower and forward a touch

Bigralphie, Thanks do your knees now fit in the cut outs on the tank?? What about the brake pedal??

No knees dont quite fit in cut out unless I push myself back (I like to ride over the front of the bike)
Back brake works well but with size 12,s I have always struggle to find the back brake on any sport style bike

I really need some one who knows about Griffs rearset to have a look at mine because as I did not do the fitting I cant see how they can be adjusted further down

I have always had Giles rear sets before

Would it be possible to mount the plates the other way up, mine are black, on a gen 1 and as they are set they are the same as stock height wise
and an inch further forward which just suits me, the back brake works fine now. The best person to talk to is Griff.

Hi as stix mentioned I got them fitted to my T. the fitting plates are both reversible so can go upside down & also transfer from one side to the other so effectively there are 4 ways that the plates can be fitted to give the multitude of fitting options if that makes sense to you. Although effectively you are obviously restricted to the overall dimensions.:confused

I'm nearly 6'3" & they work for me, although I only got size 10feet & 34"legs. No need to take foot off the brakes at all in my case. :yinyang

ahv got them on mine....set pretty much on the mid setting which is fine for me ( 6ft 1in by the way)

Hi have also bought some of griffs rearsets, were told that they would lower upto an 1" from standard pegs as I've got a doddgy hip. Went to fit them only to find the lowest setting is about 1/2 an inch higher than standard, phoned griff and he is getting me some different back plates made up at this moment. Hope it works out as he is a top man. Will let you know how every thing goes as soon as I get them.

They may well be fine rear sets, but it doesn't look like they give the option of remounting the rear brake caliper so you actually have a brake that works. Afaik only Griff's rear sets give you this option.
Whats that nestling behind in a vertical position saying Nissin??

Yes saw that, but it doesn't say that a new master cylinder is included, so potentially a bit more expense / hassle. Griff's let you use the existing master cylinder.

That brake master cylinder is a Jap one so you may well be right there Gilo, a phone call would probably tell you though.

Not sure but I think Nob had some of those that he sold, my be worth changing chanels &n asking the question!!

Was talking to Griffs new mechanic a few weeks ago; his rearsets are now available in "brushed" silver, as well as polished silver and black. Never liked the polished one's, wouldn't look right on my Gen 2 Tuono.

Best mod ive done was fitting Griffs R/Sets, but only 5'9" so didnt have probs apart from filing brake rod down to get correct angle for ped.
