Hi Guys,

I can see why this is a popular mod and one I might well do!

Does the bike have to be calibrated after fitting to ensure the APRC and the speedo is accurate afterwards?

Gavin.

.
No,...the speedo sensor is on the rear brake plate, pointing at the disc bolts.Nothing to do with the APRC or gearbox.

I'm pretty sure that I had to run through the recalibrate procedure after I fitted a 15T front sprocket.

I swapped my 16T for a 15T with no speedo recalibration needed, confirmed with the GPS/speedometer app on my smartphone.

Well,..every day is a school day.pinched this off AF1.

CALIBRATION. You need to ReCalibrate after changing sprockets or Tyres

Go into Menu screen on dash, scroll to Calibration, select by pressing mode button. Ride off & into 2nd gear. Screen shows "calibrating". Maintain a steady speed of 42kph (24 mph), +/- 2kph (1.25mph) for 10-20 seconds-until the calibrating screen automatically turns off & goes back to the regular screen. Now stop & turn off bike for at least 30 seconds. Then turn on, ride off... Recalibration complete!

Thanks for posting that.

I thought I was going mad :thumbup:crazy

:)

The bike does seem over geared slightly, and can be a pain around town.

Is the sprocket easy enough to fit?

Gavin.

Piece of piss mate.

From memory the sprocket cover is held on with three bolts and the sprocket is the easiest I've ever removed. I think it's around a 14mm bolt that holds it on.

same as rizla easy and excellent mod all done in ten mins and calibration was easy too

I got this done over the weekend - takes a little more than 10 minutes though LOL.

Thinking about this 15/44 mod and wondering if anyone can share if this was done with a 520 conversion kit or regular 525 chain and sprockets. Appreciate all inputs!

525 sprocket, I didnt require a new chain, just pushed the wheel back a little.

It calibrated ok just couldn't get the tc to work read the manual now sorted.hold the + on the left clip on for a couple seconds.

Short update: 15/44 conversion with the AF1 520 chain conversion kit done, recalibrated and works awesome. Bike runs so much better around town. Highly recommended mod as far as I'm concerned.
Also fitted new iridium sparkies and got the 20k service done, valves needed no further adjustment.
I love this bike! Addictive!
