hello all,

a few friends of mine were telling me that i should take my 07 rsv 1000 to the local speed shop and have my suspension set up for my height and weight, can i do this myself? does anyone know of a good thread that might break it all down for me?

thanks in advance

If your happy with the way it handles at the mo, i would leave it, but if you have issues with the handling then its worth setting up your static sag first, as badger says its all personal when your setting up your suspension.

These are not standard settings mate, they are track settings, looking at them i would not set my bike to them full stop.

Someone on here i am sure could give you standard settings for your bike:dunno

If any of you guys would like to learn about how to set up your suspension , please come to one of the sessions im doing whilst on tour!!!

You'll get to watch me jumping around like a fool teaching guys how it all works, ive written a book(let) thingy so you can take it away and digest in your own time and best of all its free!!!!

hope i can help??
Griff

Hi there Fusebox,
I have an 03 RSV, I'm in SA so I don't think I would be able to make the sessions. I have set up the suspension as per the manual I downloaded off the net. If you could possibly forward one of the leaflets to me, please. I don't believe that my bike is set up properly, most of the time she handles pretty ok, just every now and again when I go into a left corner at pace it feels as if the back wants to come around and meet the front so I can't really throw it around as much as I'd like to. I'm sure the bike is only being pushed to a quarter of what it's capable of at the moment.

griff go to bed...

Morning griff,

My e-mail addy is '[email protected]' In the 2 years I've had the bike I've seen so many of these bikes around, made friends all over the country. It doesn't matter where we go for a ride, possibly 10 of us on different bikes, the public will always stop and have a look, with positive comment. Aprilia is strong and alive in SA, they are offering open days and promo's all the time. I think Aprilia is using the Kawasaki Network in SA as a base. Anyway guys, thanks for the positive responses, I will post some pics soon.......
