Hi all,

got myself a bit of a problem.

when fitting a new jet 40 to get rid of my inability to select nuetral on my 05 RSV R, we over tightened the cover bolt and stripped the thread out from the casing, think it's the crank case?? now the cover bolt doesn't tighten up properly and oil is able to slowly leak out.

Anyone any ideas what could be done to sort the problem and likely costs??

Cheers.

Can't recall what it was but I'll try to find out shortly but there is another option to heli oil that may be better I think. We were discussing it a while back on rider site

helicoils are **** mate i use what they call timesert you can buy them from worth there the best ever for ****** threads mate there just like a hard steel hollow screw in thread not like the helicoil insert that tend to ripp out . timesert mate all the way:thumbup

Yes it was something like that definitely not heli oil and I think that it was as cheap or cheaper
