Stolen Bike - 05 RSV Factory - black

Hello all, my bike was just stolen from a private car park in Docklands, E14, just seen video footage of the thieves stealing it too, unfortunately its not clear enough to catch the number plate of the white ford transit van.

The bike was an 05 RSV Factory, black, with a Fabbri double bubble screen and MIVV stubby GP cans.

A white guy and black guy were seen wheeling the bike to the van.

If you see or hear anything, I'd appreciate a shout.

Cheers

Kevin.
Hi Mate

Sorry to hear that! Try and get the video footage and post it on utube. I have a Datatool Snitcher on my MV, cheap yet very effective and it also has a tracker facility. Alot of Bike crime in SE London, I had 3 commuting bikes knicked, KTM and x2 Aprillia sport cities. Even thou the KTM had x3 locks attached. The police should be able to enhance the image from the CCTV!!!!

Gutted for ya fella but ole bill don't usually do alot in my experience!

How correct you are. The scum bag that stole my KTM was caught, however the CPS decided it wouldn't be in the publics interest to prosecute.

Oh did I forget to mention he was also tagged!!!!! :jack

Holborn in London is very bad due to x2 gangs operating in the area mainly Kings Cross and Islington. Bikes are then used for smash and grab raids. Kids usually aged around 14 to 20. :angry

I feel ya pain fella does ya head in for sure the good old British criminal justice system! :rant

Sorry 2 hear about that, keep an eye on Gumtree aswell, I've seen a few dodgey bits and pieces on there. :thumbup

Definitely, remember to check spares sales as well. Its highly likely it'll get broken and the bits sold off. Normally they wait a few weeks before doing that, because once the claim is settled the police will loose what little interest they have. At that point the bike becomes the property of the insurance company, and they wont be looking for it.

Everyone rightly calls for these mofos to be executed, but the reality is that when most of us buy used parts we don't even think about where they came from.......

If it was chained, be interested to know how long it took em to get through it, normally around a minute. It then gets lifted into the van, sometimes with the help of a scaffold pole. Keep your eyes peeled, good luck with claim........

A tin of quick freeze is normally used. I am not unleashing a new trick here, its common amongst the scum bags. Often Recces are conducted using 1 or 2 teenagers usually on a mountain bike. They photograph the bike using there mobile phone paying particular attention to the lock and any other security features. I would change the location of where you park the motorbike thus avoiding routine and setting patterns. My disc lock was smashed off in a little under a minute causing no damage to the disc, so don't believe a disc lock will protect you particularly as most of the bikes get picked up. If your local to where you park your bike then a Datatool snitcher is a good idea!!! alternatively use a bike cover. Thieves don't know whats under it and are less inclined to pull it off to have a look. I now use x2 Disk locks (Front and Rear), a heavy duty chain and a bike cover. Crazy!!!!!!!!!!!

What sort of crap country are we living in that makes us have to take all these precautions?

If there was any sort of proper justice & police system the little scrotes wouldn't think it worth their while. :rant

If there was any sort of proper justice & police system

and if we stopped buying no questions asked used spares / frames ;)

there was a campaign to prohibit frame sales without a V5 a couple of years back, no one was interested :dunno there was another campaign to have track bikes inspected and frame/engine numbers logged, when push came to shove no one gave a toss.

Look at ebay spares and gumtree, who's buying all that stuff? Bikers, thats who. I have no sympathy with the toerags who nick 'em - Baz from the ZRX owners recently caught one of em trying to get into his garage, the pike was put in hospital, fair play - but when you buy a used spare you are in the lap of the gods as to whether its straight.

Councils in London don't bother with these things. There is no money involved. It would be different if you leave you vehicle wrongly parked, then they move resources to give you a nice fine and you get a nice picture with it from a CCTV operator. :pirate
