So, rear shock is still knackered :angry and I need a replacement ASAFP - weather's way too good to have her off the road right now!

Have been looking into a couple of alternatives - Hagon and WP. Does anyone have any experience of either? They seem to be more affordable than Ohlins but not as well known so comments appreciated.

Read good things about both but would be good to have some forum feedback :thumbup

WP rear shocks were OEM on CBR1000RRs from 2004. Never had any problems. Have you tried flea bay for a quickl ook at rear shocks available?

WP are supposed to be good shocks.
I've had hagon on other bikes I've owned, and to be honest I wasn't that impressed with them, but they might feel different on the mille

Try Maxton as well..............

or some ebay numbers to look at

Maxton will be up there with Ohlins, and I would have thought WP would have been in the same ball park.

Hagon shocks were basically cheap aftermarket shocks for old brit bikes when you couldn't afford proper replacements.

They have come on slightly these days I gather, but I wouldn't entertain one on anything more powerful than a scooter.

For me I'd tend to go Maxton rather than WP , simply 'cos Richard is on the end of the phone to help with any set up issues.

After all most of the Irish road racers and a goodly proportion of the TT and club racers can't all be wrong.

Maxton specialise in bespoke shocks for bikes used hard on the roads as well as tracks.

You'd be amazed how many riders have their Ohlins gutted straight from the showroom and Maxton internals fitted instead. :devious
