My 06 Gen2 Tuono decided to have a funny turn on my return from a coffee stop in Ashbourne the other day. Had a good ride there with no problems. Went to start it and it wouldn't. blank dash, nothing. Alarm off, on off, fiddled with ignition, at some stage a code came up on the middle of the dash APMT0025. After a few minutes it started and I rode home (50miles) ok but she stalled several times idling up to junctions (not experienced this before).
Went out the next day for a short ride and the power just didn't feel right, it stalled again and the same APMT0025 code came up on the dash.
I have had a look through a few forums and there isn't much about this - I have checked the battery connections and the 2 30amp main fuses - they look ok to me.
Has anybody got some suggestions. Thanks in advance.

phone Griff at aprillia performance Tamworth by the way was you out around Knighton the other week

Ive heard of this code before. Its some sort of wiring fault code.Check all the connections to the frame.(earth) Also check the relays under the pillion seat. One of them...cant remember which one,...is the side stand relay that can cut out the engine. Also make sure all the starter relay connections are good and clean.

Ok,further to above. It looks like you either have low voltage at the battery or an intermittent wiring short circuit.
I take it the battery is good? You mention an alarm,...alarms can run down a battery in no time.If you can, check the battery voltage with a multimeter,...NOT the one in the clocks.Should be at least 12.5v dc., ,
I would take the battery off the bike and give it a charge with a decent charger,..wont do any harm. While its on charge,go around the bike and check for loose connections and look for signs of any chafing that could cause a short circuit.Look under the seat, tank and around the steering head.

Not made it out to Wales yet this year. When I get this problem fixed I'll be out over that way.

Thanks for all the replies.
The battery is fully charged and in good condition - I keep it on an Optimate Charger during the winter.
I will check the relays and wiring again as much as I can, although a short trip to Griff's may be due next week.
Thanks.

I've had this APMT0025 once on start just like you wiped the trip counters and reset the time but turned it off and on it starts , i've also have the stall on as I approach junctions a few times but not as bad as yours
What I do get is the bike cutting out after i've started whilst still on side stand as I'm putting my gloves on, no stutter just stops dead with service sign showing turn off and on and its fine.
Now i've been to griff they had a look ECU showing no faults and they only iffy thing found was the alarm fitter has wired the kill switch of the alarm into the side stand wiring so I'm looking at these but as its an intermittent problem
its very annoying.

Thanks Keith B I'll have a look at this too

Checked all fuses, relays, connections and wiring I could and went on a test ride today (first chance I've had, bloody rain) and everything seems back to normal for now. Fingers crossed.
