Starter Engine problem?

Hi,

ive searched around a bit after my problem, and cant really find any good answers. So here i go:

A couple of months ago my old battery went dead. So i bought a new one (cant remember brand). No cheap one though!
The first days with the battery it would work out fine, and start whenever i wanted it to start.

Then came a few rainy weeks, so it stayed in the garage for like two weeks?
I charged the battery and started it.

But a couple of days after that, it wouldnt start at all. Complete dead. So I jumped the battery with a real jump starter,
and the starter engine kept going after the engine fired up. So i killed the engine and tried one more time. This time with no problem.

A few weeks went by, and there was no problems with it. Until yesterday, when i tried to start it. And the same thing happend, the starter engine wouldnt stop..
I killed the engine again, with the killswitch. And just as i turned the killswitch of, the start engine went on again.. And this time i didnt have the keys in the ignition!
So i unplugged the battery and waited a few hours and tried once again. And as soon as i plugged the battery in, the starter went on..
Still without the key in the ignition.. its still like this :/

Have any of you guys had this problem? Maybe a new starter engine would work?
Or may it be some kind of loose connection somewhere?

Id be very thankful for some help! And sorry for my bad english haha, hope you got it all though!

The starter relay has failed. The internal contacts have welded together, so that the relay is always in the "ON" condition. This often happens because the engine was being cranked with a low battery, or cranking it over for long sessions. It pulls a lot of current through the relay and it overheats.

There is an improved Yamaha relay that can be used as a replacement.
