start problem after hard riding

hi again, I'm having a problem that now happened 3 times after some hard riding with brights on. slowed down and switched off bike, when trying to start again after couple of minutes, I seem to drain the battery as starter engages and then resets the the settings on the clock, rev counter light,etc. without bike starting. On the second attempt everything is well and bike starts, obviously with everything reset. I have read the brown connector mod, will this sort my problem? am I on the right track??? please help. got my bike (mille 2001) back from spraypainters in 2010 racing colours ala biaggi. trying to upload pics but failing - help please...

Do a search fella. You have a low state of charge in your bike's battery and / or the starter solenoid is getting lazy. A new YTX14BS battery and starter solenoid should cure your problems.

Legs knows his stuff so I'd take his advice - it's a common problem.

And dont keep trying to start it on a flat battery it will feck the Sprag and then that is gonna be another story.

thanx. will have to look at the battery and solenoid. winter was bad here in South africa with minus 2's a frequent morning welcome for a commuter, and i battled a couple mornings to start her, had to push a couple times also... is this related to my problem?
