thinking of putting the standard cans back on for a track day with a noise restriction, the new cans will probably be a bit loud and i dont want to chance it , will the bike still run sweet with map 2. cheers.

i had to put my standard cans back on and am still running them now,,,,its a little lumpy bottom end but fine when wound on,,,,it does run a little rich though

I reckon mine must be on map2 as it runs like yours and I know the previous owner had after market cans on

What weejock said. I'm running map2 and she runs a little rich, but at the track... BOOOYAH!!!

Glad to hear that your T is going to play where she belongs. Totally worth it!

Oulton's a demanding track and the first few bends are wicked, try and see a video :thumbup
What do you think ? late 70's, flourescant green, yellow or Joseph's technicoloured high viz leathers ? :lol:lol:lol

:thumbupWhat's the limit on your Db? Anythin above 102 Db should be fine Nobbi. I have Done Cadwell, Rockingham and Brands all with Acro's with baffles out and no problem. Unless you are doing an eve session when they drop the limit by 2 Db.....you shoud be OK.:thumbup

Saying that I haven't heard your new pipes so am guessing. Best trick which I had to use at an eve session at Brands was dropping a 4" x 4" square of sponge in the back box just for the test. It works a dream and pops straight out again once your through.:cheers

Sorry to be a killjoy, but I was informed by the dealer that did my map change, that you should not run standard cans with map 2 or "open" cans with map 1.

It is true that it will run rich if running standard and map2 - this means, that if it is very rich you will damage the cylinders as the petrol doesn't all burn, it is eventually expelled into the exhaust where it evaporates (hence the "running rich smell), but while in the cylinder is dilutes the oil = excessive engine wear = not good at all.

For the sake of £20 or whatever a map change costs, it is worth having the change.

We will, of course, need visual proof that such exotic, retro leathers exist outside of Canada.

I'll deffo be putting a nod to Shvl on somewhere, be rude not to after the abuse you lot have been giving him.

Thank you nobbie dearest. At least I have one friend here...

There was one more track day planned for the fourth and I was going to rock the Power Ranger suit one more time at the track...

its supposed to have a high of 4C with rain and sleet and high winds...
