just got back from a short blast only to notice that the right fork seal has started leaking !!
Only done 7000 ish miles, is that normal on the ohlins ?
I also assume its worth doing the pair rather than just the one thats leaking right ? Any ideas on what it should cost to put right ??

When I had my old rsvr I got both done at an Aprilia dealer. Think it cost about 50 quid for both.
Always worth getting both done. :thumbup

if yer up tae it, tak the legs oot yersel and pit them in tae get done. Saves a fortune in dealer labour. An ah wid say dae both as weel. Sods law th other could go the week efter ye get her back oan the road.

Check ye dinnae hae any stone chips or wee gouges as weel.

DB, mine went roon aboot the same time as yours. I think it cost me £130 for them to be replaced, that wis takin the bike to them. As r said if yer can get them off the bike it wid be cheaper.

cheers chaps, does make you wonder though why ohlins produce top notch suzzies and put chewing gum fork seals in !!

Local Ohlins specialist has quoted me around £200 for the same - he also said that am Aprilia dealer will most likely replace with the same model of seals, but Ohlins have recently replaced the seal model such that they should not leak again so soon. Mine started seeping at around 15,000 miles.

No worries Dave, this was only a month ago, so these new seals may not yet be known about everywhere. If they need confirmation, the Ohlins guy round here who told me about them is MH Racing at www.Mhracing.com.

Seems cheap? Did you take the forks in & supply the seals & oil?

As Rico says, ring around Dave but take the forks in (both) & save on labour if you can. Only talking from motocross experience. Got sick & tired of paying someone to do all the time so learnt to do myself, easy with the right tools once you done a few :thumbup

Dude...that's sooooooooOooooo cheap :eek
2x fork seals = £18
2x dust caps = £10
1litre+ of fork oil = £10

That leaves £12, take away the VAT and he's done it for £9.60...or just £4.80 per fork leg....that Sir, is a result :thumbup :yes

so i should be looking at £200 ish all in ?
Cant be arsed to take the forks out myself...

£200 was also what l was quoted yesterday by the MV dealer as how much they would reduce mine as a part ex for a Brutale 1090rr as the fork seals need doing. It seems to be the standard price round this way.

My right front Ohlins fork seal went at around the same mileage. Had both mine done under warranty but dealer put on K-Tech seals - apparently way better than Ohlins.
