Right, my V4 has the standard size sprockets on... for the moment (16f-42r)

Considering putting a 44t rear on for better acceleration and easier use at lower speed. I've experimented alot with previous bikes, but i'd like to know what you guys have done.

Lively is what id want, But still want it to be useable for the longer ride.

-1f +1R is probably a unicycle now then!?

Think I wil be doing 16-44 when I next change the Sprockets, along with a jazzy gold x-ring chain (aprilia have a fascination with **** looking chains)

Wouldn't recommend going down one on the front it's like a motor cross bike

Really?

It's the first mod I do on any bike and mine has had a -1 front for the last 2 years.

Excellent upgrade as the stock gearing is far too tall.

Holly Crap!
That I would have thought was too far, first 3 gears must be redundant.
Bet the front tyre lasts well?

I love it, I always gear my bikes down -1/+3, it will still do 150mph, which is too much anyway. APRC settings on the highest and just hold on tight ! The acceleration is absolutely breath taking. I only ride out on Sunday morning balsts, some A and mainly B roads, it's perfect for this

I think "lively" must be an understatement!

Just found a 14t sprocket in my garage, almost new from my Ducati build, if it fits i will chuck it on and go try it out :) that would make a 14f 42r

Right, so its now been 6 months and ive finally fitted a 15f 43r, its rapid and much better than standard gearing.
