Spring weekend blast - Wales

Morning Groovers,

Bit early I know but every Spring I start the season off with a weekend blast to Wales. Stay with my uncle near Abergavenny & from their we usually go for a 350 odd mile ride to Anglesey & back taking in some of the finest roads Wales has to offer through the Brecon Beacons & Snowdonia. No main roads used, all tight & twisty with little traffic.

Anyway, if anyone fancies joining us on the next one let me know & I will look into sorting accommodation for the weekend. Being Kent based I tend to head down Friday night, ride all day Saturday with a few beers in the evening, another 100 odd mile ride Sunday morning stopping off for breakfast then head home late afternoon for tea time.

Open to suggestions on a weekend that would suit & ideally want to keep to a dozen riders or so as many more & things can get messy!

Should this be successful I got a friend who runs organised 3 "“ 6 day tours to different destinations throughout Europe (Nurburgring, Alps, French Riviera etc"¦) & I'm sure I can pull a few strings for some of us to tag along in the Summer.

Cheers, Robbo :biggrin

Sounds good tr, only thing for me is that it would be weather dependent.

Same as Aldo for me too mate. Also Brooksy has organised a magical misery tour up Scotland in spring too , so it may be justifying two weekends away with the lads in succession ......not that I'm under the thumb or owt.:no

No worries lads. Is a way off yet & I know the weather will play a major factor but gives plenty of time for those under the thumb  to make their excuses to the missus & me chance to gauge interest. Obviously I don't want it to clash with Brooksy's shindig so can work around the majority & dates can be confirmed with accommodation sorted nearer the time once the weather can be tracked.

In saying that, this is Wales we are talking about. Been for weekends away mid-Summer for it to pi$$ down constantly only to head home crossing the Severn Bridge for the sun to come out!

Good Idea! There's three of us (min) from Bristol, so sounds possible. Spring is a long way away at the moment....

Sounds good to me, and not too far for me but would like to meet up with like minded people that chose the best make and bike, count me in!
