Okay well from all the posts on here I understand that I can use a Ducati part and it should be cheaper than the Aprilia Part.

Can anybody shed a light as to where I can get the Ducati part because in my 5 min of searching I have found them to be twice the price !!

Aprilia Unit £183.00 approx Aprilia Part Number AP0659110
Ducati Unit £330.00 approx Ducati Part Number AP0074768

BMW parts can also be used, cheaper again. Phone REPS in Caldicot (can be found on web) and ask Royston what parts he recommends using.

OK Part numbers I have are as follows:

Ducati Equivalent:

Sprag Clutch - 70140071A (From any Ducati dealer)

Alternatively you can fit the genuine Aprilia parts:

OEM Aprilia Sprag Clutch Housing - 0659123
OEM Aprilia Sprag Clutch - 0659110
OEM Aprilia Sprag Clutch Gear - 0634595
Aprilia Stator Cover Gasket - 0650340_GS

The OEM sprag is expensive and not quite as good as the Ducati ones IMHO.

Kiwi, I reckon all you'll need is the sprag. Finger crossed.

Have been quoted £95-00 for a Ducati sprag incl VAT & Delivery is this good ?

Well done Areesmille. REPS have fitted several of these and he reckons it's the best quality one out there.
Going to do a hunt on UK prices just out of curiosity.

Thought I would add this as a reference point for those that may want to do their own "Sprags"
Here are some of the associated costs (Based on mail order company)
Sprag Bearing - £183 (genuine) £100 (Ducati)
Sprag Housing - £62
Gasket - £8
Loctite 243 - £4
Loctite 648 - £17

Additional costs
Oil - £40
Filter - £20 (I went for the longer filter and adapter)
Sump plug Washer - £4
Oil Tank mount - £3

Fortunately I was able to borrow a puller and had some brass rod of the right diameter to lock the engine and had the correct allen keys.
Of the 2 "independant" bike shops I contacted one quoted 2 hours labour @ £85 per hour and the other said between £100-£150 for the labour.
The nearest Aprilia dealer quoted 4 hours but declined on the labour cost.

The only BMW one I can find is for the 650 and costs £54-00

Starter sprag clutch (F650 Funduro/F650ST) | ENA43296 £53.90 (INC VAT)

what would the chance's be that it fits and works..................................

try Leon who runs bmwbikebits.com

He might be able to give you a pointer on whether it fits as he is involved with rsvr.net as well.

tell him Spoonz sent you.

His email is [email protected]

Give Royston a ring at REPS, he'll tell you.

Good contact Spoonz!!

Perhaps we can make the prices of the Sprag and contacts a sticky for future reference?

WTF is that all about, cant tell you how much they charge an hour:jack:jack

If mine ever goes im gonna fly AMB67 out here to fix mine, it will be damn sight cheaper than allowing Aprilia a Blank cheque :rant

TT haven't seen your black Rsv at broomies place in Caldicot have i. Seen one there a few times.

Where is Reps in Caldicot ? never spotted it when driving round the village.

Anyone know where I can buy/borrow the flywheel puller? Or can you use a generic one?
Anyone got the info on the BMW part from Royston? Don't want to bother him if he's already had 10 zoners on the phone asking him the same question!

It was too late to phone him tonite, So I emailed him instead.
Will post in this thread as soon as I have had a response :)
