Was it anyone from here? I spotted another RSV on saturday morning at monkeys jump roundabout at Dorchester. Sorry I didn't wave or nod my head, I was a bit involved in trying to get my knee down  Unsucsessfully again... :doh
Had a great morning blast along my favorite back road though with my newly fitted DrRossi Eprom, I can ride faster cos the power delivery is smoother and more predictable, really encourages you to roll on more throttle coming out the corners :doug

Nor me :) All things being equal, the bike going back together and the gods of Aprilia looking favourably upon me, we'll be off to West Bay and Swanage tomorrow.

For a good sized knee down roundabout with little/no traffic, and only one route on and one route off, pop down onto to Holton Heath industrial estate and hang a left R5vmille. You can take all the time you need there without needing to constantly look to see what is coming ;)

Hi mate, I know the just the roundabout you mean, been there a couple of times over the last couple of weeks, shame about the manhole cover though, I think it's a private road too so you can practice left hand knee down too :thumbup I think I'm kneerly (sorry couldn't help that!) there with it, just need to go a little faster and hang off more!
Are you riding the coast road to west bay? Cracking twisty road :thumbup

Careful with the left side. If you get the wrong policeman turn up, they will nick you for it. The debate rolls on as to which part of the road is adopted by the council and which isn't. It used to be a favourite haunt to go and play a few years ago, but i'm sure you've noticed the speed bump lines. These were put in as a method of stopping it being a bit of a playground after a really nasty incident involving a GSXR and a car from one of the small workshop garages down towards the other end.

Will indeed be the coast road to West Bay and then a reverse trip across to the Purbecks. Welcome to join us :thumbup

No news yet mate.

If you come back along the coast road be carefull of the huge bump in the road as turn left at the bottom of abbotsbury hill. It was in the paper last week how some GSXR had come a cropper on it.

Hello chaps, I'm in Bridport - very close to the coast road & West Bay. Been riding the roads between the M5 & Bournemouth up to Salisbury in the North East and Bridgewater in the NW for a fair stretch of time on various machines....

Anyway if anyones going down the bay tomorrow or in the area, give us a shout (or add to thread). The bike is in the Its Here thread ;)

Hi SaintNick, there seems to be a fair few of us round here!
Hey Caterpillar, I could be up for riding the coast road to west bay with you, what sort of time are you guys coming past Dorchester? There is a great bit of twisty back road from Dorchester to Portesham (Via Martinstown & Winterbourne Abbas) where you join the coast road, highly recommended!:thumbup

Sorry fella's cant make tomorrow morning :( bugger

Plus i now have no road tax or much of a rear tyre.

Evening gents. I'm guessing we'll be heading out from Bournemouth around midday tomorrow. I still have to get the bike finished and back together so that's the depender for me at the minute :laugh I'll post up again tomorrow mid morning, after my early start with the spanners and hopefully catch you for a ride and a cuppa :)

Cool, I'll keep an eye on the computer fella :)

And finally! We are heading out just after 2 so we'll be at West Bay around 3, just in time for a cuppa and a burger :) perhaps see you there gents.

I saw a silver Mille in Portesham on the way, then met up with a nice chap on a new BMW HP2 Sport, and wend for a fast blast about the back roads for an hour :doug
much as it pains me to say it, these new beemers can shift!

No worries that man. We actually only made it as far as Dorchester funny enough since my bike started producing some lovely smoke screens courtesy of the clutch diaphram (old, knew I should of replaced it) splitting and not having anything with me to plug the pipe :doh

I'm going to post up a potential rideout for this coming Sunday, hopefully see you there :thumbup

Local issues

keep us posted on ride outs, that'd be great :thumbup there are some absolutely cracking roads a bit N/West of here, ie Somerset way and across the border. For some reason traffic drops off as you head towards the Somerset levels. Two goodies: Langport/Bridgewater, faster sweeping stuff and further away Tivverton/Dunster (across Exmoor) head bending stuff lol.

........and there are two other RSVs round here, both ex club racers. Clive's - boss of CT motorcycles in Bridport - who for many years erm allegedly held the coast road record back in the day before everyone went there, and Phil the Builder who isn't far from Brid. If I can hoik those two in we got ourselves a chapter lol

If you get up as far as Salisbury then the old A30 (Salisbury - Shaftsbury - Sherborne and beyond) has some nice sections on - been having a little play on that recently. Let me know if you're planning on coming up that far and I'll sneak out if I can.:thumbup
(Won't be keeping up with any ex Club Racers though!)

Not me sorry but was in the area. What made you get the Dr. Rossie rather than the power commander? Am just thinking of fitting the commander to my bike over the winter.

Regards Steve

Sorry to hear about your diaphram, if I'd known you could have popped in for a cuppa and tools, I'll pm my tel number in case you get stuck this way again!
I can't make this Sunday, got the in-laws down for the day :( but could do saturday....

The old A30 is a great twisty road A303 :thumbup never rode it on a bike, but driven in a few times, nice and twisty :)

I went for the DrRossi chip as it's got great reviews and also optimises the ignition timing as well as the fuel (where as the PC3 only adjusts the fuel curve) also DrRossi enables the trim pots in the ecu making it nice and adjustable on the dyno (the next planned mod):thumbup
