Speed traps

Do you lot think that the police are making an active effort with speed traps.

I know quite a few people (myself included) that have been driving / riding for many years that have been caught recently.

They seem to be catching people on back troads (that have traditionally been less risky for this issue) as well as main roads.

They seem to be getting sneakier, hiding behind trees and bushes where once they were a visual deterant.

Obviously all those caught must have been speeding to some extent, it just seems that when ever I speak to friends & family someone else has been nabbed.

TBH, its putting a bit of a damper on any rides & makes me think twice about going out.

I've not seen the local polis once. Then again, there is only one, and he's lovesick and no payin' attention to the likes of me. There are a lot of patrols on the A82, but they don't seem to be running speed traps. Don't think the cameras are working either. Different story when I went down the central belt the other week. Then again, you need to keep the Weedgie and Edinbuggers clamped doon or they get out of control.

As a very recent victim (ie in the last 24 hours!) of plods electronic assisted war oan speed ah kin undoubtably vouch for thir comitment an effectiveness tae thir cuase. ..

Got nipped last night on way back hame from the Ulster Gp by a pair o Hi Vissers wi a hand gun jobbie hidin ahent a grassy bank an a gate that then louped in there motor an followed in hot pursuit wi the full flashin lights gaun hard at it....BUGGER!!!!

Had tae tak ma medicine and the usual long lecture " did ye nae see us wi awe the Hi Vis oan son? " Ahm thinkin " naw ya bam cos ye were dooked ahent yon bank! " Then ah got the whole "ahm a biker as weel son but ye widnae see me drivin like that"

So 89 in a 70 wi 3 pts and a 60 squid fine pink slip tae add tae the 3 pts ahv awready got.

Fairly dampened ma day ahl tell ye!

...and annoying thing wiz it wiz only 40 mile (efter daein 500 odds so far) frae hame as weel....

Neil min...ye don,t know jist how relieved ah wiz when he telt me it wiz sub 90...wiz twitchin fur a bit as we wir fairly keepin the pace up.

Olaf I seem to remember reading that Durham was a friendly county with no cameras at all? Think it was in MCN or one of the mags a couple of years back?

It used to be.
They hit the usual spots that historically have been targetted, but its the ones that are hiding in the unusual places that seem to be catching people.
At the moment I seem to be riding my old Honda Dominator more than the T.
Because of its limited performance, I dont have the same urge to press on that I get when riding the T.
I was thinking of joining the green lane federation (or what ever its called) & see what they get up to.

TRF, O. Jıst a word of warnıng though, they advocate 25mph on the lanes.
