Been looking for a track bike for a while & started using some other forums. One of the things they all have in common that we don't is a monthly owners meet purely to show ya pride & joy whilst chewing the fat with like minded people. Popped up to an Suzuki sv one local to me the other night undercover for a butchers. 15 bikes, nice blokes, nice village pub with nice food!

So, got me thinking. With spring/summer looming no reason why we couldn't do the same. No doubt day, time or venue won't suit all but here it is, hopefully the first of many monthly meets!

Date: Thursday 14th April
Time: 7.30pm
Location: The Bell Inn, Godstone
Who: Any ape forum riders & friends

For details & location of the pub visit

Why Thursday? Means those that work weekends or have family commitments can come out to play.

Why the second of the month? Most people will have been paid, bills sorted & can justify the expense of a burger, chips & pint.

Not a typical bikers styled pub / cafe but has got a nice big car park, garden with decent ale & grub. Gives all riders from surrounding areas / counties chance to take the nice twisty roads their & home if they wish

I will be leaving Maidstone at 6.30pm for a scenic blast via Tonbridge, Sevenoaks, Westerham etc... Anyone that fancies meeting at mine for the ride is more than welcome.

Be their or miss out. Will only work if we make it. The more of us, the better it will be & the quicker word will spread meaning we'll always have the second Thursday of each month during the summer to look forward to!

Chow for now, Robbo

This is the final roll call.

All checks say weather is good for tomorrow. Come say hi & enjoy an hour or so chatting bikes n ****. Be their or miss out!

I'll be their around 7ish. Robbo

Nice to meet some new faces as well as some old ones again.

Had a great time even if I did have to suffer badboy's (Kev's) drivel. Was 10 of us in total so not a bad turn out for a first meet! Hope you all got home safely. Until the next one :thumbup

Am open to suggestions on date & location for this. For me it was ideal so I’d be happy to do the same. Nice pub, in a central location with a 60 odd mile hack their & back through the lanes. Not so great for those that lived 10 mins away but then if it was further would you have come along? Over to you guys!

Ok, was thinking about May's meet. Being Godstone was a good meeting point for most it was too close to home for some. So what about The Bull Inn, Linton, near Maidstone www.thebullatlinton.co.uk

Decent pub with a big garden, views, ale & grub. Is localish to me but happy to do a loop through the Garden of England via Rye to get my fix before hand. Decent roads their & back from all directions assuming you avoid the motorways.

If too far to attract riders from further a field, you got The White Hart, Brasted, Westerham www.whitehartbrasted.co.uk Again, nice pub but not that far from Godstone!

Over to you guys to chew the fat on this one. Once we have a majority verdict I'll start the thread for the next meet. Had 10 riders turn up for the first one, be nice to have more for this one :thumbup

how do, does anyone happen to know of any ride outs around the london area..............cheers,andy

Check out the open forum. That's where Badboy usually posts forthcoming ride-outs. In general, this lot prefers ride-outs to meets.
One idea for the may meet: May day, May 2nd, In Hastings. thousands of bikes, all shapes and sizes, huge meet, and great fun. The ride down is usually fun.

I will try the open forum then Stefano if you thinks best :thumbup

I've done the May Day run for the last 9 years. Yep, huge meet with loads of bikes & great fun, but ***** for a ride out. I meet at Locksbottom in Kent & head to Hastings but avoid the A21 like the plague. 4 hours to do 50 miles at crawling pace in heat with loads of fuzz ain't much fun! The alternative take us on some great twisties, covers nearly 200 miles on the round trip & best of all not much traffic :biggrin

When I was riding, I would normally head in the opposite direction, riding to London to work in the morning, and going back to Hastings in the afternoon. It always looked better from the opposite lane.
