Sorry another won't start thread

I know this is a subject for which there are many threads, and until now have been using these threads to help diagnose, but to no avail.

The symptoms are that the starter motor isn't turning I was just getting the wirring of the fuel pump and the clocks reset themselves, so I got the yamaha starter solenoid (old one was showing signs of water damage and melting around the rubber boot on the +terminal) and a varta battery which is showing a solid 12.8 across the voltmeter, but still won't start.

So does anyone have any ideas before i take apart the starter motor, and could it be something to do with this loose wire with the gold spade, thought it might be an earth so tried touching it to the frame but nothing.

Once again sorry for asking a question thats probably been asked before, but getting kinda desperate now, wanted to be doin other things with the bike.

Cheers guys.

Its come out of a multi connector block somewhere, just have a look around to find one with one missing & aconnector the other side

you need to find out where that spade has come from and get it relocated properly in the connector it has come out off, i don't have your model to go and have a look to see where it locates.

It is a good possibility that is the fault you have right there

might sound daft because im not very machanically minded, but i had a similer problem, bought two new solonoids neither worked, checked wiring and fuses. still no go. then checked the fuse for the data alarm, it's the little rubber block inbetween the tilt sensor and the solonoid in your picture. it had blew on mine. and it stops the iginition switch from working, and also buttons did not work right on data fob. its a 10amp fuse as far as i can remember

cheers guys for all the suport. I'm not too bad with mechanics, but when it comes to electrics I tend to glaze over.
Just checked the wiring diagram, the wire is yellow and red and it seems to me that it comes from either the ecu or the starter solenoid, don't thnk its the solenoid, so i'll take the back plastics off tomorrow and have a proper look.
All fuses were fine.
