Does anyone have their seat covered in any kind of non-standard material on their T ? I recently changed over to textile trousers from leather, and have found I'm sliding all over the place on the seat ... I'd rather not just use a generic Triboseat Rider type of cover if possible, and I would've thought that Stomp grips on the tank sides mean gripping too hard with the knees !

Any ideas ?

I've got stompgrip on my T (see thread in photos forum) and have used it on other bikes over the last few years. I struggle to ride a bike without it, you can just lock yourself to the bike with your knees (you don't have to grip that hard) and it's particularly useful under hard braking 'cos you can take the pressure off your arms. The looks aren't everyone's cup of tea but I highly recommend the stuff and will always use it on my bikes in future.

The looks aren't too bad at all, and if you don't really need to grip too hard with your knees, they may be the answer ... anyone got a picture of Stompgrips on a white/red 07/08 Factory ?

I yous a lockel Car seet upholstera to recover my bike seets iff they split ,of wich my new Tuonos has underneeth for some reason , I get them done in black Vinel Shark skin , its very grippy totaley nonn slip ;)

**** the looks. It's all aboot making the bike rideable and thrashing the **** outta her. Ergo, like the man said, Stompgrip allows you to use your knees to stay well in control of the bike and THAT, boyo, is what riding is all aboot!

Quite happy with the "boyo" namecalling ... not been called a boy in well over 30 years now ... mostly agree on the "**** the looks ... it's about the riding", but from the amount of bling people put on to their T's, we do like them to look reasonably good too, or at least no worse than the half-dozen different flavours of gold and bronze colouring that are on mine ... not helped by me having the standard blue wheels powder-coated gold to try and match the brembos, and not quite getting it right !!

I have the suede type seat covering plus the stompgrips. I find both are a useful addition as I ride sat at the front of the bike tight up against the tank, the stompgrips are very useful under braking inparticular. The suede/alcantara seat is a not as slippy as the standard and you feel a bit more stable.

Stompgrips ruin your leather though NO?

I wear Scot leather trousers and not really noticed any damage. I suppose if you are into the fashion side, keeping your Dainese leathers clean and unmarked comes before rideability. My leathers are for keeping the skin on my short fat stumps.

"suede type seat covering" ? How, where ?

Tubbs,
I think the material is called Alcantara, Your local upholsterer(try yellow pages) should be able to supply or even supply and fit. I got this one on ebay but i know that the covering has been about for a bit as i got my 98 R1 done at Newark.

tribo-seat for pillion is a superb addition. My youngest daughter (13) likes going for a run and since I added tribo she says she feels much safer and more relaxed.

Tubby that's one sweet lookin bike mucker.
