I have disconnected what aprilia laughingly call a slipper clutch as I felt it was changing the clutch bite point. Has anyone else done this? I also changed my oil at the same time and now the clutch is slipping? I used rock oil guardian sigma 15w40 semi synthetic. I have changed the whole clutch 2000 miles ago so it cant be that.. Im guessing it must be the oil...

Have you tried re-connecting the slipper clutch to see if it stops :dunno

Oil changes can affect it too (so i've read) and it happened to me after a service. I took out the clutch plates and roughed up the surfaces with wet n dry and it's been fine ever since. Apparently the oil gets impregnated into the plate pads and if a different oil is used it...er... makes it slip :dunno

Hey up APR1L1A:thumbup I recently changed my oil and filter and went from 10/40 semi synthetic to 15/50 Rock Oil guardian Sigma semi synthetic and the clutch has started slipping - although it did it a couple of times before i changed the oil. It slips when i shift gear at high revs and i thought at first i had maybe not released the lever fully before getting back on the gas. I've tried pretensioning the springs with washers but it did not improve. The main man Griff said it would be the plates after i went to see him but now you have got me wondering about the oil:dunno Has anyone else used Rock Oil Guardian Sigma and had problems with clutch slip??

Thanks! Im just gonna put silkolene or agip(Expensve!) semi synthetic back in it like it had before! Ive reconnected the diaphragm but no effect!
