hi deano i did the same indicators, number plate, mirrors, you may as well take out the headlight as well if your trailoring in. don't now about you but i was shitting it two weeks before the trackday, but after first warm up lap i was loving it i just kept smooth. i had racetecs on what you got

I have got super corsa 3's !!

Bit of tread left so they should be ok for day but will need replacing after !!

Bricking it now lol

know about 18 of us going from my old gixer site one of which is a instructor on the day so hoping to get some pointers and get him to video me !!

Can't wait !!! But if it rains it will be waisted money as I won't enjoy it !!

Be prepared,I travelled up from devon last year to donnington for my second track day on my 750 srad it rained at twelve o`clock, but did manage to get three secions in,the supercorsa` didn`t like the rain.Cost a fortune in total for the day,but worth every penny to get out on a proper track, can`t wait to do my first on the millie this year somewhere but everywhere is so far away.enjoy.:thumbup

Hi Deano, there's about four of us on Aprilias going to this one. Look out for us when you get there and will all go in the same garage, four rsvs should be easy tospot. We've been there befor so we can give you all the useless advice you want. See you there chap.

Cheers.

H... Cool will meet up for a cuppa !!

FE are reserving 20 of us from my old gixer site some garages so will be parking up with them. If you want to come in with us I can add you to the list ? Or of course just so your own thing and il find you.

What class u riding in ?

A cuppa sounds good Deano. As for the group, FE always stick you where they like which as inters is always over subscribed it'll be fast again I guess. Only five and a half weeks till this one. If it cheers up a bit might sneak another trip to Brans in first. See you there.

Cheers.

Fast !!! Think novice is gona be to fast for me lol

few guys I know who have put in novice are pretty fast and have been to silver at least 4 times !!

As long as I stay on the island rubber down it will be a great day !!

Honestly mate, you'll be fine and will probably wanna move up to intermediates after one session. I've been on 4 trackdays, all at Silverstone albeit last 1 2 yrs ago. Really wanna do another this year. Silverstone is quick, but not blow your mind quick, you'll only reach about 140 ish down the hangar straight. Use the white line towards the end of the straight as a rough braking point, depending on how quick your going and how hard you brake obviously.
It's quite an easy cicuit to remember, only tip I can think of is dont hug the rumble corner at the first corner (copse??), it is bumpy, find it smoother just to be a couple yards out. Chicane right at the end sucks arse but other than that its cool, I'm just gutted they took out the fast left hander before the bridge and whacked a chicane in there, that left hander was awesome at full pelt!

Here is my vid http://vimeo.com/videos/search:gsxr600%20silverstone from my last one on my gsxr600, Ignore my lines, I'm not exactly Valentino Rossi and sometimes go in too quick/slow. This is intermediates, I'm about average speed, maybe a little towards fast for that group and feel quite comfortable. Hope it comes in useful for braking markers etc, and hopefully there wont be concrete dust over oil everywhere like I had, man that made me nervous! Take it easy on first lap, tyre warmers are a must have imo dspite others saying only racers need em, makes alot of difference on the first lap. Good luck, and most important of all, enjoy it!

Cheers for the vote of confidence boys !! But none of u seen me ride lol

a few of my mates who are much faster than me
are in novice again !! If pos il try to use them as pace makers but don't think il keep up with them if I am honest !!

Just gona go and have fun !!

Can't wait just over a month now !!!

Beg to differ there chap.:devious

Even Ron Haslam says they are a waste of time for trackdays, you generally spend so long in the pit lane waiting for the off that they've cooled down anyway and you've just put another (wasted) heat cycle through them.

Plus with FE they say you should be taking it easy on the first few laps anyway, when you get to the Advanced group they tend to get on it a bit during the first lap or two but by then you're into willy waving territory anyway.

There's no reason to be worried about a trackday, certainly if you are trailering or vanning the bike there, just take off anything you can easily remove, tape the lights (and preferably cover or disconnect the brake light) and just go as fast (or slow) as you feel comfortable with.

It's NOT a race, and there are no prizes for being first (you could be in line for a ****y prize though if you bin it during the first session)

Best advice I was given was:

1) to eat and drink properly during the day

2) remember that during the last session of the day when you are starting to relax and feel invincible that you are in fact much more tired than you realise, and you should just use the last 20 mins as a warm down.

Enjoy :thumbup
