Hello chaps , since ive put the new shock on the old girl the ride height has gone up a tad which makes the side stand look more dodgy than ever , on the old site i remember people saying that a fireblade stand works better ,,,,, now the question is

What year do i need ?

Do they fit without any mods ?

Any help would be great , but if ive got it wrong then feel free to kick me in the virtual nuts :D

Just looked at the one you two have said about and thats the one i will go for , cheers .

I have one of the Busbewoo ones on my Factory, no problems at all, and I am waitng delivery of one for Liz's Tuono.

I got this message from Gary yesterday..

SIDESTAND UPDATE:
I took a long drive over to the workshop yesterday afternoon & finally got to the bottom of why I've had supply problems over the last 3 months or so. The workshop was sold last week & there are new owners in residence. I spoke to the manager who showed me the sidestands which have been cut to size ready for further processing. He assured me that the company would honour any outstanding orders but that they require time too organise & almagamate their existing customer orders with the ones that they inherit. He will contact me next week with a delivery date. For quality assurance they will be using the existing welding company & powdercoaters. After this batch I have to negotiate new terms.I appreciate that you have waited a long time for this product but I have always strived to meet delivery dates & this has been out of my control & with little or no communication from the workshop.Kind Regards.Gary

I would suggest you contact him before ordering any new stands.

Some of the guys on the AF1 forum have used k model gixxer stands

I looked for one and they are cheap but what to buy?

I swapped for a fireblade stand. I've got a definite list of suitable years on the pooter somewhere. Contact me tomorrow if you want it and I'll dig around.

I can confirm it's a straight swap, your switch will also fit

I used an '06 Fireblade stand on mine, works a treat. Uses the stock Tuono switch too. I didn't fancy the Gixxer stand - funny shape!

How many effin times do a need to say this, jist park it on the other side of the road, or if thats to hard to understand park it on your side of the road but facing the opposite way. It's L/h drive were R/h drive the effin cambers the wrong way fir a r/h. Solution park the t the other way. What an effin bunch of whinging FUDS you are. It's now way to slow here, I'm off.

You'll get done then for facing traffic on the wrong side fudboy. They came down our road one night and stuck a ticket on every car that was facing the wrong way. Something to do with reflectors they reckon. I would of left my stand on though if I didn't get a free one. I just used to 'make sure' it was steady.

Compatible stands are:

Aprilia US pattern stand Part No. AP8146732 cost new about £150 plus delivery

Gary Bubsewoo aftermarrket stand £45 inc delivery

Honda Fireblade 1000RR 04 to 06 Cost £60 new (David Silver Spares) or £25 plus delivery plus VAT from a breaker

GSXR K6 600/750/1000 - £15 plus delivery from breakers, need the bolt turning down on a lathe.

I really struggled to find a suitable fireblade one from a breakers (cos there're all being stuck on Ts and RSVs)

I got one from 'moto46' near Cadwell for about £30. They're new, apparently they have some deal to flog the bits from new trackbikes. Give em a ring

Ps they definitely make an improvement but not as much as I'd hoped for. The stand sits further out from the bike which is good but it's still stands too upright for my liking
